She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 433

When Rowan pulled her back into his arms for another heavy kiss, Lyra kept her arms wrapped around his waist, playing her part and kissing him back.

They were completely wrapped up in each other when someone stumbled upon them.

The man had only stepped out for a smoke, never expecting to walk in on such a scandalous scene.

His eyes went wide, refusing to believe what he was seeing.

The woman's face was partially hidden, her fair skin glowing softly in the evening breeze. Before he could figure out who was locking lips with the notoriously ruthless CEO of the Jameson Group, he snapped out of his shock and tried to back away into the shadows.

Rowan released the woman and glanced coolly in his direction. Lyra, sensing the shift, turned her head as well.

Mr. Montgomery mentally cursed. It was Caleb's sister.

But that didn't make any sense...

Weren't they officially completely done?

And hadn't the rumors explicitly stated she was dating Rowan's younger brother?

Mr. Montgomery's brain short-circuited. A cold sweat broke out on the back of his neck, and for a wild second, he genuinely feared for his life.

When Lyra realized who it was, her mind blanked. Operating purely on instinct, she shoved Rowan away and sprinted off without a second's hesitation.

Rowan, completely unbothered, calmly gestured for Mr. Montgomery to come closer.

Knowing he had just interrupted the boss's intimate moment, Montgomery broke out into a cold sweat. Trembling, he shuffled forward.

"I-I'm so sorry, Mr. Jameson... I just came out for a smoke. I had no idea..."

"It's fine," Rowan said, a faint, chilling smile touching his lips. "Things aren't quite stable yet. Just keep this to yourself."

"Yes, yes, of course!" Montgomery nodded frantically, his tone entirely subservient. "I understand completely. My lips are sealed. I won't breathe a word."

The sharp crack of the gavel drew her attention.

The front row seats had been reserved for VIPs.

Lyra took a seat near the back.

A moment later, Calvin slipped into the empty chair beside her.

"Miss Fairchild, what exactly is going on between you and Rowan? I swear, it feels like I just escaped a minor villain only to get ambushed by the final boss. Your social circle is terrifying. He practically threatened me to keep my distance..."

"There is absolutely nothing going on between us."

Calvin opened his mouth to press the issue, but then he spotted Rowan striding down the aisle. He immediately shot up. "I'm going home. This crowd is too much for me."

Lyra wanted to tell him Rowan wasn't going to sit next to her anyway.
