She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 373

There was no way Jasmine was leaving. Overwhelmed by desperation and a crushing sense of loss, she threw all her dignity out the window and lunged forward, wrapping her arms tightly around Rowan. Pressing her tear-stained cheek against his suit, she let out muffled, broken sobs, consumed by a love she couldn't bear to let go.

"Rowan, I don't want to go... I want to stay here tonight."

Wesley was utterly shocked. Jasmine had always been so aloof and dignified. He had never seen her weeping like this, let alone throwing herself at a man.

Rowan held his arms out rigidly, refusing to embrace her, and shot his assistant another sharp look.

Wesley hurried over, not daring to waste a second. He awkwardly tapped the arm Jasmine had wrapped tightly around his boss's waist. "Miss Ford, please."

Completely drained and heartbroken, Jasmine let go. She forced a stubborn mask onto her face, calmly wiping away her tears. "Sorry to intrude."

Wesley escorted Jasmine off the Blackwood Manor grounds.

Back at the Ford residence, Tabitha was thrilled to spot Rowan's car dropping her daughter off from the second-floor window.

She hurried downstairs, eager to push the topic of marriage.

"You and Rowan have been talking about marriage forever. It's time to make it official. Look at Caleb; he already has kids."

"The longer you drag this out, the riskier it gets. If you don't lock him down, someone else will steal him."

Only Grandma Ford knew about the breakup. Still in a foul mood, Jasmine snapped back, "If that happens, there's nothing I can do about it! What, am I supposed to force him to marry me at gunpoint?"

Tabitha was stunned. She hadn't realized her daughter had so little sway over Rowan!

Back in her room, Jasmine thought about the woman hiding in the shadows, gloating and parading her victory.

A towering wave of hatred crashed over Jasmine, bringing a sharp, agonizing sting to a heart that had been ground down into numbness over the past few days.

Caleb's face immediately contorted in shock, his brows knitting tightly together. "Lyra, where on earth did you hear such nonsense? Stop guessing blindly."

A hint of displeasure laced his voice. "My hands are clean. I've never crossed any lines with another woman. It's a good thing you didn't ask this at home... if Kayla heard you, she'd blow a fuse over something that never even happened."

"Sorry." Everything clicked into place for Lyra. This was entirely Rowan's trap from start to finish. By the time Caleb had woken up, Josie had likely already slipped away.

Her brother hadn't even seen the woman's face.

But the fact that Josie was willing to risk her reputation and status to help Rowan meant her devotion ran much deeper than Lyra had initially assumed.

Pulling her thoughts back, Lyra gave Caleb a stern look. "Caleb, you must promise me you'll never have anything to do with that woman again."

Caleb had no idea why she was being so paranoid, but he sighed and nodded, casually agreeing to her demand.
