The moment Rowan's flight landed in Seaborne, he headed straight for Jameson Tech.
Andrea stood before his desk, delivering her latest report. "I'm absolutely certain Lyra recognized me. When I offered to drive her car, she didn't ask a single question. She just hopped in the passenger seat and let me take the wheel."
Rowan frowned. Lyra wasn't the type to blindly follow orders. "Are you telling me she thought you were some handsome guy and just swooned into the car?"
"No," Andrea said flatly. "Lyra doesn't even like you. Why would she like me?"
Standing nearby, Wesley Wade tried to figure out if that was an insult or a compliment. The blunt statement had completely silenced Rowan.
Andrea continued her explanation. "I caught her when she fainted. She definitely knows I'm a woman."
Wesley gave Andrea's entirely flat chest a dubious look, wondering if she possessed any self-awareness whatsoever.
Rowan leaned back in his leather chair, shifting his attention to the documents Wesley had placed on his desk.
Andrea, however, wasn't finished. "There's something else that's bothering me. When Caleb's wife collapsed, Waylon Grayson reacted way too intensely. A guy with his personality should have just dialed 911. Panicking like that isn't his style."
Rowan immediately caught her implication. "Are you suggesting Waylon was just trying to play the hero to score points with Lyra?"
"No..." Andrea sighed, realizing her boss had a serious case of romantic paranoia. She was aiming in a completely different direction. "I'm suggesting Waylon might be having an affair with Caleb's wife."
Rowan effortlessly signed his name on a contract. "As long as it's not my problem, I don't care. I have zero interest in whoever is putting horns on Caleb's head."
His only concern was making sure he wasn't the one getting played.
At that moment, Lyra was gently holding one of the twins. Delilah didn't recognize the guest, so Lyra quickly introduced her as the woman who had helped drive her to the hospital during the emergency.
Hearing this, Delilah instantly beamed with gratitude and ordered Martha to prepare some high-grade tea.
Andrea politely declined the tea. Her sharp eyes landed on the soft, sleeping infant. "The baby is absolutely adorable. Do you mind if I hold him?"
Delilah carefully transferred the newborn into Andrea's arms.
Barely three seconds passed before the infant let out a piercing wail. Feigning helpless amusement, Andrea quickly handed the crying child back to Delilah. "I guess I really don't have the magic touch with kids. They cry the second I hold them."
Just then, Caleb walked through the front door. Seeing him, Andrea smiled. "Caleb, your mother and Lyra both have their hands full. Would you mind walking me out to the car to help me look for my earbud?"
