Jasmine's sudden resignation baffled her family.
Given her exceptional capabilities, managing two companies would have been a walk in the park for her, especially since her role at Jameson Group was merely a secretarial position.
The entire Ford and Townsend families happened to be gathered together.
Over dinner, Thomas Townsend brought it up. "Jasmine, now that you've left Jameson Group, why don't you ask Mr. Jameson to take Finn under his wing?"
"After all, he'd learn a lot more working directly under a man like him."
Grandma Ford thought Thomas made an excellent point. Her cloudy eyes brightened as she looked expectantly at Finn Ford.
Finn paused, tightening his grip on his fork. "I'm not going. The pressure of working for Rowan would be suffocating. I'd be terrified of making a mistake and putting my sister in a difficult position."
Tabitha agreed with him. "Finn is still young. Let him gain some experience in a smaller firm first. Once Jasmine officially joins the Jameson family, everything else will fall into place."
Both Jonathan Ford and Tabitha were terrified of Finn making a misstep.
They had already made one catastrophic mistake in the past.
They couldn't afford to drag their daughter down again.
Besides, Finn lacked the sheer determination and brilliance Jasmine had possessed since childhood. He was indecisive, falling painfully short of his sister in both business acumen and social grace. It was much safer to keep him close to home.
Thomas laughed heartily. "True, true! Jasmine and Mr. Jameson are deeply in love. If Finn ever wants to join, he can go whenever he pleases. Since you all have it figured out, I won't nag."
Elara Townsend pouted, feeling indignant for her cousin. "But Josie Somerset's fans are being so smug right now."
"They're all over the internet claiming that you and Rowan must be breaking up, and that's the real reason you resigned."
Jonathan frowned. "Who is Josie Somerset?"
Finn chimed in, "She's the hottest star in the entertainment industry right now. With her stunning looks and massive fame, she's definitely qualified to be considered a real rival to Jasmine."
Grandma Ford immediately scowled, her tone dripping with disapproval. "Utter nonsense."
Rowan stood tall and imposing. His crisp white shirt was perfectly tailored, highlighting the broad, hard lines of his shoulders and back. The collar was casually unbuttoned, exuding an effortless, untouchable elegance. With his sleeves rolled up to his forearms, the prominent veins and sharp wrist bones against his luminous skin made him look dangerously attractive. He was so breathtakingly handsome that people found it difficult to look directly at him.
Several wealthy socialites kept casting lingering glances his way, then turned to tease Jasmine with envious smiles.
"You are incredibly lucky, Miss Ford. Mr. Jameson is simply magnificent."
A polite, modest smile touched Jasmine's lips. She knew exactly how much the women around her coveted her position.
She gripped her golf club with a relaxed, graceful posture. With a fluid swing, the white ball carved a beautiful, sharp arc through the air, landing cleanly near the distant hole.
It was a flawless, decisive strike.
As they returned to the lounge area, Mr. Montgomery praised her enthusiastically. "Your fiancée is incredibly talented, Mr. Jameson. No wonder you have such an impeccable eye for choosing her."
Jasmine smiled gracefully.
Rowan took a sip of his drink and replied coolly, "I'm looking for a wife, not an employee. Do I need to assess KPIs for a wife?"
