She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 300

After dropping Lyra off, Rowan didn't head home. Instead, he whipped the car around and drove straight to the Grayson estate.

Waylon stepped outside with his phone in hand, only to find Rowan leaning against his car, looking absolutely murderous.

Rowan's gaze was pitch black. "Where is The incapacitating drug?"

"What?"

It took Waylon a full two seconds to realize what he was talking about. "I threw that out ages ago."

Rowan stared a hole through him. "If you ever dare use something like that on Lyra, I will personally end you."

"I won't. I have absolutely nothing going on with her."

"Then why did you lie to me?" Rowan demanded.

Waylon didn't bother sugarcoating it. "I just didn't want you to screw things up with Jasmine. She saved your life, she stood by you for three years, and she treats you incredibly well."

Rowan stood in silence for a long time before a humorless scoff tore from his throat.

Everyone was so damn obsessed with telling him to live happily ever after with Jasmine.

Everyone thought they could manipulate him.

"Jasmine and I are doing perfectly fine. I don't need any of you meddling in my life."

Rowan's voice was devoid of all warmth. "I don't care who you end up using that drug on, but keep your hands off Lyra."

With that, he got back into his car and sped off into the night.

Waylon stood silently on the driveway, watching the taillights fade into the darkness.

He hadn't expected Rowan to wake up to the truth so quickly in this lifetime.

But it was already too late...

Waylon walked back inside, heading to the kitchen to grab a beer from the fridge.

Eleanor Grayson was still wide awake. Coming downstairs and seeing only her son, she let out an exasperated sigh.

"That bitch is eight months pregnant, right? We can finally get rid of the baby now, can't we? You've been stopping me from touching her this whole time. It's time."

Waylon looked utterly repulsed by the entire situation. "Do whatever you want," he muttered dismissively.

...

The next day.

Lyra wore a surgical mask, purposely coughing a few times to look convincingly sick.

"I'm going to skip breakfast at home today. I'll just grab something on the road."

Caleb stayed quiet. Delilah, completely distracted by the rapid-fire questions, eagerly took the bait and started rattling off a list of things they needed to prepare for the baby.

While the family was distracted, Lyra slipped out the door, mask securely in place.

...

She didn't head straight to the office. Instead, she drove to a luxury real estate center, planning to buy herself a three-bedroom apartment.

If she ever needed to move out of the Fairchild estate, she wanted her own place to fall back on.

Lyra sat quietly on the plush sofa, listening to the saleswoman gently explain the floor plans. But a few minutes in, she spotted Madeline and Peyton Marshall walking through the doors, clearly there to look at apartments too.

As they hovered over the architectural model, Lyra felt a surge of rage, but she forced herself to stay seated.

Before they could notice her, she quietly slipped out of the building.

Getting back into her car, Lyra decided to pivot and drive to Sabrina Vance's dental clinic, intent on exposing Peyton's cheating to the Vance family.

Sabrina's clinic was notoriously expensive and usually empty.

When Lyra arrived, a light drizzle had started outside. Sabrina was sitting alone by the window, sipping a coffee.

Seeing Lyra walk in, Sabrina was genuinely surprised and delighted.

But after listening to Lyra expose Peyton's infidelity, Sabrina didn't look bothered in the slightest. "Let Madeline sleep around a bit more. She'll wake up eventually."
