She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 5

Herbert tightened his jaw. A flash of internal struggle crossed his eyes, but ultimately, under the relentless chanting of the crowd, he slowly leaned in toward Sylvie's waiting lips.

Sylvie closed her eyes and tilted her head up, like a princess waiting to be saved by true love's kiss.

The chanting subsided, giving way to a soft, sweeping romantic melody. The entire venue was drenched in an intoxicatingly sweet, fairytale atmosphere.

Right at that moment, an aggressively loud, out-of-place clapping shattered the illusion.

"Bravo! How wonderful! Give her a kiss!" Hulda clapped as she walked forward, her heels striking the polished floor with sharp, echoing cracks.

Just like that, she stepped out from the shadows and marched right into the brilliantly lit spotlight of the stage.

The venue plummeted into instant chaos. Everyone stared in bewildered shock at the woman who had just hijacked the altar.

What was going on?

Who on earth was this woman?

How classless could someone be to ruin a perfectly good wedding like this?

"Hey, aren't you his relative? What are you doing up there? Get down!" Dante's welcoming demeanor vanished, his face darkening with fury as he barked at her.

This wedding was his family's ultimate triumph. Every person in their hometown was green with envy over his daughter landing such a wealthy, powerful man. So what if he had a six-year-old kid? The boy obviously adored her. Sylvie was marrying straight into high society.

He absolutely refused to let anyone ruin this!

The wedding planners rushed the stage, trying to drag her away. "Ma'am, the ceremony isn't over yet. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed up here."
