After a quick change of clothes, Hulda arrived at the French restaurant within the thirty-minute window.
Unsurprisingly, Caspian was the only customer in the entire venue.
Led by the server, Hulda approached Caspian's table and took the seat directly across from him.
Displaying excellent situational awareness, Dylan stood guard at the restaurant entrance to prevent Abby from barging in and playing third wheel.
Tonight, Caspian was dressed in a meticulously tailored custom suit. The diamonds on his collar and cufflinks caught the ambient light, accentuating his already striking, aristocratic features.
"Serve the food," the man commanded the waitstaff.
Moments later, the appetizers arrived. Under Caspian's bewildered gaze, Hulda stood up, walked over to his side, picked up the linen napkin, and draped it professionally over his lap.
"What are you doing?" Caspian's eyes darkened as he demanded coldly.
Hulda didn't answer. After placing the napkin, she grabbed the wine bottle and began pouring his red wine.
The waiter, having his job unceremoniously hijacked, stood awkwardly to the side, completely unsure of what to do.
"Hulda, what the hell are you doing?" Caspian's tone sharpened. "I asked you here to eat, not to play waitress!"
"Oh, really?" Hulda stopped pouring and looked down at him with an icy, mocking stare. "Didn't you say that serving you was part of my compensation?"
Caspian's face hardened, his chest heaving with visible anger.
Standing by the door, Dylan didn't even dare to breathe.
The only person on earth capable of pissing his boss off this much was Ms. Atherton.
Hulda set the wine bottle down and returned to her seat across from him, showing absolutely zero interest in the exquisite appetizers before her. "Are you satisfied, Mr. Sterling? How else do you want to humiliate me? Just list it all out so I can get it over with, and we can finally wipe this debt clean."
"Humiliate you?" Caspian let out a dark, furious laugh. He snatched up the half-filled wine glass, took a vicious sip, and slammed it back down onto the table. "Have you lost your mind? You think I'm doing this to humiliate you?"
