Standing outside the main entrance, Hulda took a deep breath and finally walked in.
The sprawling lobby was mostly empty. There was no sign of the welcoming committee Brandon had mentioned.
With no other choice, she took a seat in the waiting area, planning to wait for him to finish his call.
The young receptionist behind the front desk gave her a brief glance. Assuming she was just there to meet a regular employee, she ignored her and went back to gossiping with her coworkers.
"I'm telling you, Mr. Jewell and Ms. Sinclair arrived together again this morning. Do you think they're living together?"
The group instantly perked up at the juicy topic.
"No way. I overheard Mr. Jewell and Mr. Jameson talking once. I think he's already married. He has a wife and a kid."
"But has anyone actually seen this supposed wife in all these years? It's completely unnatural for the CEO's wife to never visit her husband's company."
Hulda lowered her eyes, a faint smile playing on her lips.
She had visited. Exactly twice. The first time, she brought him lunch and was impatiently dismissed. The second time, she brought him the divorce papers, and she hadn't even been allowed to see him.
"True. Honestly, she's either dead or they're divorced."
She pressed her lips together.
Well, not dead. Just divorcing.
"Anyway, I think Mr. Jewell and Ms. Sinclair are a perfect match. I totally ship them."
