She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 782

"Dominic, do you like this painting?"

Leila was genuinely curious.

From what she knew, Dominic had absolutely no interest in appreciating or collecting fine art.

So did he just like lychees?

While she was puzzling over it, she caught sight of Melanie walking in their direction out of the corner of her eye.

"Dominic, buy this painting for me! I love lychees more than anything," Leila suddenly declared loudly, intentionally casting a glance at Melanie.

"You like lychees too?" Dominic blurted out, a deep frown forming on his face.

Too?

Leila raised an eyebrow, a massive question mark forming in her mind.

She obviously didn't like lychees.

She just wanted to make Dominic buy the painting in front of Melanie, to let her know that Dominic was perfectly willing to spend a fortune just to cater to her tastes.

So...

Dominic was interested in this painting and had been staring at it for so long because he was thinking of someone else who loved lychees? Or perhaps he wanted to buy it for that person?

Leila quickly reached her conclusion.

"How much is this painting? We'll take it!"

Leila decided to go all in, immediately calling a staff member over.

"What are you doing..."

Dominic tugged at Leila's arm, but his eyes were completely fixed on Melanie as she approached.

The dress Melanie wore today might have been pure black, but the cut and fabric were incredibly high-end, perfectly highlighting her elegant and sophisticated aura.

It was something a superficial woman like Leila could never compete with.

Dominic instinctively shot another glance at Leila.

How could a loud, vain woman wearing a garish red-and-green dress ever be fit to be his girlfriend?

The more Dominic thought about it, the more resentful he became, his face darkening.

"Who is she? This is so embarrassing."

"She actually didn't know Lady Whitmore is a Diamond VIP here!"

"She doesn't know anything, yet she dares to act so arrogant in front of Lady Whitmore, wow!"

As more and more people pointed and whispered about her, Leila panicked, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

But Tessa completely ignored her.

"Melanie, I've already bought this painting..."

Tessa said, gently taking Melanie's hand.

"It's a gift for you."

Just as Melanie's eyes widened in sheer shock, she heard Tessa continue:

"This painting is called *Lustrous Lychees*, and it's one of Marisse Vale's most lifelike works... I remember how much you love eating lychees!"

When she heard that, it was Leila's turn to widen her eyes in absolute disbelief.
