She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 958

Darkness blanketed the city.

Gabriel wandered the hospital halls like a headless chicken.

He knew damn well that even if he called Elara, she would never tell him where she was.

If she had wanted anyone to know, she wouldn't have snuck in looking like a fugitive.

After looping through several floors without spotting a trace of her, Gabriel let out a frustrated sigh.

"Hold on."

He abruptly stopped in his tracks.

"Am I losing my mind? Why am I even looking for her?"

He scratched the back of his neck, muttering to himself.

Sure, it was weird seeing her skulk around a hospital, but did he really need to track her down?

Who was Elara to him anyway?

She was the woman who had tried to frame his brother and bullied Melanie.

Whatever problem she had gotten herself into, it was absolutely none of his business.

With that settled, Gabriel turned to leave.

But the moment he spun around, he bumped right into her.

Elara was dressed entirely in black, her head wrapped in a dark scarf that blended into the shadowy corridor.

It made her look unsettlingly eerie.

Gabriel actually jumped when he first saw her.

"Jesus, I thought you were a ghost!"

Startled by his loud outburst, Elara reflexively looked up. But the second she realized it was Gabriel, she ducked her head back down and yanked the scarf over her face.

Gabriel let out a heavy breath.

Now that they were face-to-face, he couldn't just pretend he hadn't seen her.

He closed the distance between them.

"Elara? That is you, right?"

Seeing him stride toward her, Elara jumped like a startled rabbit and immediately bolted down the hall.

"Hey, wait!"

Gabriel was faster, shooting forward and clamping his hand around her wrist.
