Jaxson's face darkened, but he didn't bother explaining. He simply turned and walked away.

That afternoon, Seraphina spent all her time prying information about Phoebe out of Simon.

When she learned that Phoebe was married with a child, shock completely took over her face.

Phoebe was married and already had a kid?

Simon added, "Phoebe and her husband have a pretty good relationship, but unfortunately, the kid took after her husband and has health issues. Oh, by the way, Seraphina, the marketing department is having a gathering tomorrow night. Go inform them."

Simon's reasoning was simple: if Seraphina couldn't handle any other tasks, running errands shouldn't be a problem.

Seraphina's initial reaction was to throw a tantrum. She was here to get close to Jaxson and build a relationship with him, not to actually work hard and suffer as an intern.

But then she remembered that Phoebe was also in the marketing department, so she agreed.

Strutting in her five-figure designer heels, Seraphina walked into the marketing department. She casually stopped by Phoebe's cubicle, her eyes sweeping over the items on the desk.

She couldn't help but scoff. "Our company pays pretty well. Why are you using such cheap garbage?"

Phoebe looked up, utterly baffled. She felt like this girl looked somewhat familiar, but after thinking for a moment, she couldn't place her.

"Who are you?"

Seraphina: "..."

Phoebe actually didn't recognize her?

Autumn glanced over and let out a small "oh." "She's the new intern from the secretarial department. I was the one who brought her to her floor this morning. Can we help you with something?"

Seraphina flashed a seductive smile and brushed her hair back, revealing a pair of diamond earrings.

"I'm just here to inform everyone that there's a marketing department gathering tomorrow night. Everyone is expected to attend."

With that, she locked eyes with Phoebe.

"Phoebe, you might not know me. I'm Sebastian's sister."

No wonder she looked familiar. She was Sebastian's sister.
