The Goddess Gift-1
Azriel picked up his phone and dialed King Markus’s direct line. After a few rings, the familiar voice
of his old friend answered, “Azriel, how are things in Stormheart?”
“Markus, we have a situation, Azriel began, the urgency clear in his voice.
Markus immediately became serious. “What happened?”
Azriel quickly recounted the events, explaining how Elora had identified the black magic afflicting the young warrior. Markus listened intently, his concern growing with each detail. “Black magic, he echoed, his tone grave. “This is serious, Azriel. We need to handle this carefully. I want the warrior transferred to the royal hospital immediately for study and treatment.”
Elora, who was sitting beside Azriel, leaned closer to the phone. “Markus, may I come along? I would like to study the royal archives as we discussed. For whatever reason, I am feeling very connected to this case; I just feel it in my chest.”
Markus didn’t hesitate. “Of course, Lora. Your insights could be invaluable. Leave as soon as
possible.”
As the call ended, Azriel turned to Doctor Luigi. “Prepare the patient for transport. We’re heading to
the Royal Pack.”
Doctor Luigi nodded and hurried off to make the necessary arrangements. Azriel then mind linked his Beta, James, and his Gamma, Sky. “James, Sky, meet me at the helipad. Lora and I are traveling
to the Royal Pack immediately.”
The atmosphere in the pack grew tense and somber as the urgency of the situation spread. Azriel
and Elora, accompanied by James, Sky, and the young warrior, made their way to the helipad.
Helicopters were prepped and ready, their blades already whirring in anticipation.
“James, Sky, I leave the pack in your capable hands. Same as before, officially, our pack borders
are closed until I am back. No visitors, postpone any deliveries. Full lock-down; only emergencies.”
As they boarded, Azriel took a moment to look at Elora, who was calm and focused despite the gravity of the situation. “We’re going to get through this,” he said, squeezing her hand.
Elora nodded, determination in her eyes. “We have to. For the warrior, and for everyone else.”
The helicopters lifted off, cutting through the air with a steady hum. The journey was tense, each passing minute a reminder of the urgency of their mission. Azriel looked out over the landscape, his mind racing with thoughts of the warrior’s condition and the implications of black magic within his pack.

Before departing, James and Sky showed concern. “What do you think this means, Alpha?” Jarres
asked, his voice steady but worried.
“It means we have an enemy who is willing to use dark forces against us,” Azriel replied. “And it
means we need to be more vigilant than ever.”
After a one hour flight, as the helicopters approached the Royal Pack’s territory, the sprawling
grounds of the royal hospital came into view. Azriel felt a surge of determination. They were in the
best possible place to address this threat, and with Markus’s support, he knew they would find
answers.
The helicopters landed smoothly, and they quickly disembarked. Medical staff were already waiting, ready to transfer the warrior to a secure and private treatment area. Markus himself was
there to greet them, his imposing presence a reassuring sight.
“Welcome,” he said, his voice calm but authoritative. “I would have wished your first visit to be in
better conditions. Let’s get to work.”
The sterile, hushed halls of the royal hospital greeted them as they entered, the warrior being
swiftly moved to a secluded area by a team of senior healers. King Markus led Azriel, Elora, and the others through the labyrinthine corridors until they reached a private examination room. Here, the warrior was gently placed on a bed, his condition critical.
As the healers began their assessment, they were joined by an unexpected figure, a witch, her presence both surprising and somewhat unsettling. She was tall and slender, with piercing eyes that seemed to see beyond the physical. Her aura of otherworldly knowledge commanded respect
and caution.
“She is Aura, a trusted member of our medical team,” Markus added, calming down everyone.
For several tense hours, the healers and the witch worked in tandem, their faces growing graver
with each passing minute. Finally, the witch turned to address the gathered group.
