A Chance-1

As Azriel confessed that she was his mate, Elora felt as if the ground had shifted beneath her feet, sending her world spiraling into chaos. Everything seemed to blur around her, and she found herself frozen in place, unable to comprehend the magnitude of what he had just revealed.

Involuntarily, she took a step back, a wave of unrest crashing through Azriel’s heart at the sight of her retreat. She shook her head in disbelief, her voice trembling as she whispered, “That’s not

possible.”

But Azriel’s response was firm and unwavering. “It’s very possible, and you know that some of us get second chances,” he insisted, his gaze piercing as he met her eyes with unwavering intensity.

Elora’s mind raced as she tried to process his words. She opened her mouth to protest further, to deny the truth of his claim, but the words died on her lips as Azriel took a few steps closer to her.

With gentle determination, he reached out and tenderly cupped her face in his hand, his touch sending a wave of relief and desire coursing through her body in an instant. Elora felt her heart race at his touch, her pulse quickening as she found herself drawn to him despite her inner turmoil.

As she looked up at him, she saw a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips.

“I know you feel it too,” he said softly, his voice filled with conviction. “Even without your wolf, you still feel the pull between us.”

Elora’s breath caught in her throat as she met his gaze, her heart pounding in her chest as she struggled to come to terms with the overwhelming emotions coursing through her.

“Even if I am your mate, I will never be accepted by others easily. I am wolfless, rogue, with a bad history,” she said in a trembling voice.

As Elora voiced her doubts, caution lacing her tone, Azriel’s temper flared, his eyes flashing with

determination.

“Lora,” he said, his voice firm and unwavering, “I choose you. Regardless of what others may say or think, you are worthy of being my mate. I know you felt it too, the connection, the inner peace, the passion, the feeling of being complete and at peace.”

His words echoed with a dangerous glint in his eyes, a silent warning to anyone who dared to

question his decision.

“But what about your pack?” she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty. “They won’t accept me

as their Luna.”

Azriel’s expression softened with understanding as he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair

from her face. “My pack will accept you because I choose you,” he said, his voice gentle yet resolute. “And anyone who dares to object will answer to me personally.”

Elora felt a flicker of hope ignite within her heart; a newfound sense of courage bolstered by Azriel’s unwavering support. In fairness, she never expected such a reaction from him, especially considering his reputation.

She was thorned between desire and her fear for her well-being, for Asher’s future.

“Oh, Goddess, Asher!!!” she shouted in her head. If he did not mention anything about her son, it meant that Mary didn’t disclose the full truth, and she knew that it would be just a matter of time before Azriel would know about him.

Elora looked at him with big eyes, as her heart was beating in her ears, as she confessed in a

trembling voice, “I am scared. Based on Mary’s story you need to know that I swore that I would keep myself away from any packs or our kind.”

Azriel looked at her, and he was pleased to see that she was communicating with him, despite her

being on the edge.

“I can imagine, my little dove, but all I ask is to give us a chance. Please. I will not force you into

anything that you are not comfortable with, and I would let you set the pace. But I warn you, I am not a very patient man and don’t provoke my beast,” he said as he pulled her in his arms, and before she could realize what was going on, he captured her lips with his.
