Azriel froze in place at James’s words, with a mixture of hope and apprehension. “Report,” he demanded, his voice sharp with urgency.

James hesitated for a moment before responding, “We didn’t find her, but we finally have a lead.”

Without another word, Azriel turned on his heel, his movements swift and purposeful as he raced back towards the pack in his werewolf form. Every muscle in his body tensed with anticipation, his

mind consumed by the burning need to find her.

As he arrived at the pack, he swiftly shifted back into his human form and mind-linked James,

“Where are you?”

“We’re at the pack clinic,” James replied promptly.

“I’m on my way,” Azriel responded tersely, his heart pounding in his chest as he sprinted towards the clinic, his senses heightened and every fiber of his being focused on the task at hand.

When Azriel arrived at the clinic, he found James waiting for him at the entrance, his expression tense with anticipation. “Tell me,” Azriel said urgently, his voice edged with impatience.

James wasted no time in explaining their theory, recounting how someone may have assisted the mysterious woman in leaving the pack. They had meticulously checked all the individuals who had left that morning, eventually narrowing it down to Doctor Luigi.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Azriel stormed into the doctor’s office, his eyes blazing with determination. “Where is she, Doctor Luigi?” he demanded, his voice echoing with conviction.

The doctor looked conflicted, his gaze shifting uneasily under Azriel’s intense scrutiny. “I… I don’t know,” he stammered, his voice trembling slightly.

“What do you mean you don’t know?” Azriel roared in his alpha voice, his patience wearing thin.

“Speak!”

The doctor explained, “That morning, the human girl asked me if I could help her get to the city. I had some errands in that direction, so I agreed.”

“How could you let her go like this?” Azriel’s voice thundered with anger, his eyes blazing with fury.

“I didn’t know, Alpha, that she was not supposed to leave.” Doctor Luigi responded, confused.

Azriel’s muscles tensed as he demanded, “Where did you drop her off?”

The doctor hesitated for a moment before replying, “At Angel’s coffee shop in the city.”

Azriel turned to his beta James and delta Tim, his expression intense. “Go investigate. Find her His command hung heavy in the air as they nodded in understanding and rushed off to carry out his orders. Just then, his mobile phone rang and as he glanced at the caller ID, he saw Markus’s

number. With a furrowed brow, he answered, “Markus, what’s up?”

“Hey, Azriel,” Markus greeted him, his tone carrying an unusual weight.

Azriel sensed the seriousness in Markus’s voice and asked, “What’s the matter? You sound off.

Markus hesitated for a moment before replying, “Why weren’t you at the council meeting today? Despite being your best friend, don’t forget that I am also the King and that I am scheduling these meetings with a purpose. Especially those when the Council is involved.”

“I had something urgent to attend to and I could not free myself,” Azriel replied, his concern /

growing.

Markus’s tone turned somber as he said, “I’ve got some troubling news for you, my old friend. The

council has made a decision.”

Azriel’s heart skipped a beat as he braced himself for what Markus was about to say. “What is this

about? What decision?”

Markus took a deep breath before delivering the news. “The council’s concerning points are increasing regarding your reign, so they have voted. You have three months to select a chosen mate and six months to complete the marking and mating process.

Azriel’s jaw clenched in anger as he processed the information. “What the hell! Are you for real?!” he shouted, his frustration palpable.

Markus’s voice softened with sympathy. “Azriel, your increasing rampage and violence, coupled with your territorial expansion and quest for power, are leaving them with no choice. They are concerned that one day you will snap and go fully feral.”

“The only thing snapping would be their necks when I met them. A little heads-up would have been good before deciding on such bullshit.”

Azriel’s mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions: anger, frustration, and disbelief.
