Surprise Attack 3
Surprise Attack-3
That laugh, that single utterance of madness, snapped something inside Azriel. His golden eyes darkened, his wolf, Thunder, surging to the surface with a vengeance. The feral, primal instinct to protect his mate, his Luna, obliterated every ounce of rational thought in his mind.
In one swift, animalistic motion, Azriel was on Alex. His movements were so fast, so fluid, that the crowd barely had time to process what was happening. One moment, Alex was laughing, and the next, Azriel’s hand was plunging through his chest, the sickening crack of bone and fresh tearing
apart echoing through the room.
The crowd collectively gasped in horror, a few onlookers screaming. Azriel’s hand gripped Alex’s
heart, yanking it from his body with brutal efficiency. Blood sprayed across the floor, and Alex’s
laugh died instantly, replaced by a gurgling sound as his body collapsed to the floor, lifeless,
heartless.
Azriel stood there, covered in blood, his hand still clutching Alex’s heart as he stared down at the dead man. His chest heaved with ragged breaths, his entire body trembling with the aftermath of rage and grief. It was only when he heard a soft whimper that his focus snapped back to Lora.
He dropped the heart, his feet moving quickly to where she lay, crumpled and bleeding.
“Lora,” he whispered, his voice hoarse as he knelt beside her again, his hands once more pressing against the wound, desperately trying to stop the blood. His entire body trembled, panic coursing through him. “Stay with me. Please stay with me.”
Lora’s eyelids fluttered weakly. She looked up at Azriel, her hand reaching for his cheek, her fingers brushing against his skin with a faint, trembling touch. “I’m… still here,” she whispered, though her voice was faint, her breath shallow.
The ballroom was chaos around them, but all Azriel could see was Lora. His mate. His love. His everything. He could feel her slipping away, and the sheer terror of that reality gripped him in a way nothing ever had.
“Someone, get help!” Azriel roared, his voice breaking with desperation as he tried to keep her conscious. His eyes darted around, catching the frozen, shocked faces of the onlookers. “NOW!”
He turned back to Lora, his face twisted with grief. “You’re not leaving me, Lora,” he growled softly, as if sheer will alone could keep her tethered to him. “You can’t. You’re my mate. My Luna. You’re strong. You’re stronger than this.”
Lora’s lips curved into the faintest of smiles, though it was tinged with pain. “I’m trying…”
Just as her eyes fluttered closed again, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. Markus, Kaia,

and several medics rushed to their side. Kaia’s face was pale, her hand covering her mouth in shock as she looked at Lora’s wound, while Markus knelt beside Azriel, his expression grim.
“We need to get her to the medics. Now,” Markus said, his voice steady but filled with urgency.
Azriel nodded, his movements quick and efficient as he scooped Lora into his arms, cradling her gently as if she were the most precious thing in the world. “Hold on, Lora,” he whispered, his voice a mixture of command and plea. “You have to hold on.”
With the crowd parting for them, Azriel carried Lora through the grand hall, each second feeling like an eternity. His heart pounded in his chest, fear gnawing at him with every step/but he refused
to let go of her. Refused to let the darkness take her from him.
Because without her, there was no world for him.
