Emotional Reunion-1
Emotional Reunion-1
Lora stirred, her senses slowly coming back to life. Her body felt heavy, yet there was a comforting warmth in the air. The first thing she registered was the gentle rhythm of Azriel’s breathing beside her. As her eyes fluttered open, she found herself in a familiar view, the Stormheart pack’s infirmary. Her gaze immediately sought out Azriel, and there he was, asleep in a chair, slumped beside her hospital bed, his hand still clasping hers tightly even in his sleep.
Her heart swelled with love as she looked at him, the man who had stood by her through everything, the one who had fought beside her and never gave up on her. Despite the battles, the fear, and the pain, he was here, just as she had always hoped. She whispered a silent prayer of thanks to the Moon Goddess, gratitude overwhelming her as she acknowledged how blessed she was to have him in her life. He was her everything.
With tenderness, Lora reached out, her fingers gently brushing through Azriel’s thick, dark hair. The familiar mate bond tingles spread across her fingertips, a comforting sensation that was uniquely theirs. At her touch, Azriel jumped awake, his eyes wide with shock as the sensation registered. He blinked in confusion for a brief moment before his gaze settled on her, and his entire demeanor shifted, his expression softened, filled with relief, disbelief, and overwhelming love.
“Lora?” His voice was hoarse with emotion, as if he could barely believe what he was seeing. He immediately shot up from his chair, gripping her hand tightly as if afraid to let go. “You’re awake… you’re here… you’re back!”
Tears welled in Lora’s eyes, a wave of emotion crashing over her as she saw the raw vulnerability on his face. “I’m here, Azriel,” she whispered softly, her voice weak but full of love. “I’m back.”
Azriel leaned forward, pulling her gently into his arms, his breath shaky as he held her close. The familiar scent of him, the strength of his embrace, it all grounded her. He buried his face into her neck, taking in her scent, his body trembling slightly with the weight of his emotions. “I thought I lost you,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I was so scared, Lora. I… I didn’t know if you’d come
back.”
Lora gently stroked his back, tears slipping down her cheeks as she held him. “I’m so sorry I scared you,” she whispered, her heart aching for the fear he had endured. “But I’m here now. I’m okay.”
He pulled back slightly, cupping her face in his hands, his eyes searching hers as if to make sure she was really there. “I can’t… I can’t even describe what I felt,” he murmured, his thumb brushing
away the tear that escaped down her cheek. “You gave everything to save us. You’re incredible,
Lora.”
She smiled softly at him, her heart full as she gazed into his eyes. “I had to. For you, for our pack,

for everyone. I couldn’t let them win.”
Azriel kissed her forehead, his lips lingering as if he never wanted to part from her again. He then pressed a soft, reverent kiss to her lips, and in that moment, the world seemed to fade away. It was just the two of them, connected in a way that transcended words. The depth of their love, their bond, was something no one else could understand.
When they finally broke apart, Azriel tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, his thumb brushing her cheek. “You need to rest, Lora. Don’t worry about anything else right now. Just focus on getting
better.”
“Is everyone okay?” Lora asked, her eyes filled with concern as she thought of the battle. “The
lycans, the warriors… is everyone safe?”
Azriel hesitated, his expression darkening slightly. “Everyone is safe now,” he assured her, his voice
calm but carrying the weight of the aftermath. “Markus and the others are handling the clean-up.”
“But casualties?” Lora pressed, her heart sinking as she remembered the fierce battle.
Azriel’s jaw tightened, his eyes clouded with the grim reality. “There were some serious injuries among our warriors. But Lora, don’t worry about that right now. We’ll heal them, but you… you need to rest. You gave us all a scare. Everyone’s worried about you.”
