Elora’s heart fluttered with nervous anticipation as she sat down, her eyes fixed on Mary, waiting for her to continue.

Mary took a deep breath, steeling herself to deliver the news. “Lora, I have both good news and bad news,” she began, her voice gentle but solemn.

Elora’s eyes widened with anticipation, her heart racing as she waited for Mary to continue.

“The good news is that my nephew, Tim, succeeded in obtaining your birth certificate and study diplomas,” Mary said, her voice tinged with a hint of relief.

A flood of emotions washed over Elora as tears welled up in her eyes. “Really? Thank you, Mary,” she whispered, overcome with gratitude and happiness.

However, Mary’s next words shattered the newfound joy. “But there’s also bad news,” she

continued, her tone heavy with regret.

Elora’s heart sank as she braced herself for what was to come. “What is it?” she asked, her voice

barely above a whisper.

Mary hesitated; her expression pained. “Your pack has placed you on the packs’ terror list,” she finally revealed, her voice filled with sorrow.

Shock and disbelief washed over Elora like a tidal wave, leaving her feeling as though someone

had punched her in the chest. The room seemed to spin, and she struggled to catch her breath. A wave of nausea swept over her, and she clutched her stomach, feeling as though she might be

sick.

Without a word, Elora bolted from the table and rushed to the nearest bathroom, where she doubled over and vomited violently, her body wracked with sobs of anguish and despair.

As Elora’s sobs echoed off the bathroom walls, Mary approached her cautiously, her heart aching at the sight of the young woman’s anguish. She knelt beside Elora, placing a comforting hand on

her trembling shoulder.

“Why?” Elora’s voice cracked with pain as tears streamed down her face. “They already killed me, they already killed my wolf. Now even my name is forever stained, despite them knowing that an omega will never survive rejection and pack banishment. Even in death, they don’t let me rest.

Why?”

Mary’s heart broke at the raw emotion in Lora’s words. She reached out, pulling Lora into a gentle embrace, offering whatever comfort she could. “I don’t know why, Lora,” she whispered, her own

us deeply. But you are not defined by their actions. You are strong, resilient, and worthy of love and

respect.”

Elora clung to Mary, her tears soaking into the nurse’s shoulder as she released all the pain and

frustration that had been building inside her.

“My nephew Tim will visit us today to bring your documents and I would like you to meet him. I

know you said that you didn’t want to do anything with the packs and other wolves, but he will not

let it rest until he is sure that you are not trying to deceive me.” Mary told her, conflicted.

“It is OK, Mary, I understand as I know about rogues. I told you about my experience in the forest

so it is fine,” Elora replied, in a tired voice.

“OK, then, clean yourself and let’s eat breakfast.” Mary told her before leaving her.

The day passed in a blur for Elora and Mary as they busied themselves planting flowers in the front and back gardens of the cottage. Despite the calming activity, Elora’s nerves remained on edge, her mind constantly plagued by the fear of encountering another wolf. Mary’s reassuring presence helped, but the underlying tension never fully subsided.

As Mary disappeared into the back shed to search for flower seeds, Elora remained in the front garden, preparing the soil. Suddenly, her eyes snapped to attention as she spotted an unfamiliar SUV pulling up in front of the cottage. Her heart lurched in her chest as a massive blonde man emerged from the vehicle, his imposing figure sending a chill down her spine.

Frozen in place, Elora watched in silence as the man strode towards her with purpose, his every step echoing with an air of authority. Despite the absence of her wolf, she could feel the intensity of his presence, a palpable aura that seemed to envelop her.

When he reached her, he removed his sunglasses, revealing piercing blue eyes that bore into her

soul. Elora’s breath caught in her throat as he spoke, his voice low and serious. “You must be the

rogue.”

Elora’s mind raced with a flurry of emotions as she struggled to find her voice. Every instinct urged

her to flee, but she forced herself to stand her ground, her heart hammering in her chest. With

trembling hands, she met his gaze and nodded hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper. “Y-yes,

I am.”
