Back Home-1

The next day dawned with a heavy sky, the convoy ready to depart the Full Moon pack. Azriel, Lora, and their group bid farewell to the pack, accepting the heartfelt gratitude and well-wishes from the pack members. They board their convoy, heading toward another vampire coven. Thanks to the four vampire warriors accompanying them, they encountered no issues as they navigated through vampire territories.

Upon arriving at the coven, Lora quickly got to work. The scene was becoming familiar: identifying the infected, performing the healing, and recording interviews with the cured. The atmosphere of joy and celebration that followed was always a welcome sight, yet it was taking a toll on Lora and/ Azriel. Their mission, while fulfilling, was exhausting them both physically and mentally.

Days turned into weeks, and their journey blurred together. Covens and packs welcomed them

with hope, and they left behind healed members and relieved communities. But with each passing

day, Lora’s exhaustion grew more obvious. Her nightly calls with Asher brought tears to her eyes

once the call ended, her longing for home becoming unbearable, Azriel, feeling her pain through

their mate bond, knew something had to be done.

One evening, while Lora rested, Azriel stepped away and called Markus. After exchanging greetings, Azriel expressed his concern. “Markus, we need to return to the Stormheart Pack for a few days.”

Markus immediately became alert. “Is there an infection in your pack?”

Azriel quickly reassured him. “No, it’s not that. Lora is exhausted, both physically and emotionally.

She needs a break. She will not say anything, but I can feel that it is taking a toll on her.”

Markus sighed with relief but also understood the gravity of the situation. “I see. Your visits have

been miracles, Azriel. The entire werewolf society and the vampires are talking about your group.

and the Goddess Gift.”

Azriel nodded, appreciating the acknowledgment. “Have you made any progress in identifying the

source of the infection?”

Markus’s tone became serious. “We know the infection is being spread deliberately, which means there are traitors among us. But there’s more. Layzal and I have found concrete proof that the dark lycans are alive and organized. They’re plotting something.”

Azriel’s blood ran cold at the mention of dark lycans. The knowledge of the massacre and destruction they had caused was like a dark cloud. “That’s troubling news,” he said, his voice tense.

After a moment of silence, they concluded the call. Azriel then mind-linked Tim. “Tim, tomorrow we

will return home to Stormheart Pack for a few days. Make the necessary arrangements but keep ita’

secret from Lora. I want it to be a surprise.”

Tim acknowledged the order, though he was curious about the sudden change. “Understood, Azriel. I believe that it will be a welcome surprise for everyone as we have been on the road for more

than two weeks now.”

The following morning, Lora noticed the unusual excitement in the group but didn’t question it, attributing it to another day of their relentless mission. Azriel kept his demeanor calm, hiding the

surprise he had planned.

As they traveled, Azriel took Lora’s hand, squeezing it gently. “We’re almost there,” he said, his eyes,

filled with warmth.

Lora, though tired, smiled at him, feeling comforted by his presence. “I know. I just hope Asher is

doing okay.”

“He is,” Azriel assured her. “We’ll see him soon.”

As the convoy approached the Stormheart pack’s territory, Lora’s eyes widened in realization.

“Azriel, are we…?”

He nodded, a smile spreading across his face. “We’re home, Lora. Just for a few days, to rest and recharge. We all needed this, especially you.”

Tears filled Lora’s eyes, this time with joy. “Thank you,” she whispered, hugging him tightly.

The convoy arrived, and as they stepped out, Asher left Mary’s side and ran towards them, his face lit up with happiness. “Mommy! Daddy!”

Lora scooped him up, holding him close as tears streamed down her face. “Oh, Asher, I’ve missed

you so much.”

Azriel wrapped his arms around them both, his heart swelling with love and relief.

After the heartwarming reunion with Asher, each member of the group went to their homes to

spend time with their families. Tim made his way to his aunt Mary, where he was greeted with a

warm hug and a loving smile.
