Threats-2
Dana sank to the floor of the shower, the steam rising around her like a shroud. She preferred to see Tim heartbroken, rejected, but alive than to watch him be slaughtered mercilessly. It was a bitter choice, one that tore at her heart every moment, but she knew that there was no way out, In
the end, Stephan was one of the Vampire King’s nephews.
Her past was a dark shadow that followed her everywhere. She had worked tirelessly to reach her position as a top warrior, to be noticed by Prince Layzal and be recruited for the Vampire Guards. The price she paid for this role was excruciating pain and torture, but even Stephan could not oppose Layza’s orders.
In her mind, she replayed the confrontation with Tim at her door. The look of disbelief and hurt on
his face haunted her.
But, she had to stay strong, to protect him without him knowing, even if it meant pushing him away and gaining his hate. She couldn’t let her feelings jeopardize his life.
The water had turned cold, but Dana didn’t move. She felt numb, her heart heavy with the weight of her decisions. She knew she had to stay focused, to maintain her facade of indifference. But every time she saw Tim, every glance he stole, it chipped away at her resolve.
Dana took a deep breath and stood up, turning off the shower. She wrapped herself in a towel and stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her face finally was a mask of calm, but her eyes betrayed the storm within. She had to remain strong and composed, for both their sakes.
She dressed quickly, pulling on her night gown, which brought her a semblance of comfort. As she laid down in bed, she steeled herself for the days ahead, as she was aware that it would only become harder and harder; she just prayed the Gods that she only get enough power to carry this
burden.
Just as she was beginning to drift into a restless sleep, her phone rang, the sound putting her back to full alertness. Her breath hitched as she saw the number on the screen. Stephan.
Swallowing her fear, Dana answered the call, her tone instantly becoming submissive, just as Stephan liked it. “Yes, master.”
Stephan sneered through the phone, his voice dripping with malevolence. “Really, master? You’ve been a very bad girl, and I will need to punish you when I get my hands on you.”
A shiver ran through Dana’s body at his words. The memory of the last time she was punished by Stephan flashed through her mind, the tortures so unbearable that she had barely survived. She kept her silence, knowing that any extra words would only land her in deeper trouble.

“I’ve heard that you found your mate,” Stephan continued, his voice a venomous hiss. “A dog. Explain yourself.”
Dana replied in a neutral voice, fighting to keep her emotions in check. “There is nothing to explain. He is not important.”
Stephan seemed appeased for the moment by her words, but his tone remained threatening. “You belong to me, Dana. Your life is mine. Your body is mine. Your mind is mine. I’ll need to remind you of this face to face, in case you’ve forgotten.”
With this chilling threat, Stephan ended the call, leaving Dana shattered. She lay there in the darkness, her heart pounding. It was only a matter of time before he would come for her, and the thought filled her with dread.
Dana knew she had to be strong, but the weight of her circumstances felt crushing. She curled into a fetal position, hugging her knees to her chest as she tried to gather her strength.
She could feel the tears welling up again, but she fought them back. Crying would not help her now. She needed to be smart, to find a way to protect herself and Tim. The clock was ticking, and every second brought Stephan closer.
