Truth or Lies?-1

“How dare you reject my precious daughter Alena,” Beta Black seethed. “She is the pride of our

pack, the famous white wolf!”

Markus paused and turned to face him, a smirk playing on his lips. He waited until Beta Black had

finished his tirade before responding, his voice calm but edged with steel. “Your daughter is the pack Luna. She made her decision years ago. So why are you complaining now? I don’t think you

opposed it when she had her Luna ceremony.”

A larger crowd started to gather, pack members whispering among themselves, their eyes darting

between Markus and Beta Black. The tension in the air was thick and palpable.

Just then, ex-Alpha Ben rushed over, trying to push Beta Black aside in an attempt to defuse the situation. But Beta Black was undeterred, his anger boiling over. “You don’t have the honor to respect the Goddess’s wishes! She was your fated one.” he spat at Markus.

Something snapped inside Markus’s heart and temper. His aura flared up, powerful and overwhelming, causing everyone nearby to pale and step back in fear. “How dare you open your mouth about honor,” he thundered, his voice resonating through the crowd. “Where was your honor when your other daughter was rejected by her mate? Or when you disowned her without even

investigating.”

The crowd froze in shock, whispers escalating into gasps. Beta Black’s face turned from rage to confusion, then to anger again. “You have no idea what you are talking about,” he snarled.

Markus’s eyes burned with a fierce intensity. “I know more than you think,” he said coldly. “I came here for answers, and now I’ve decided that we will hold the meeting I came for, and we will do it

now.”

He turned towards a shocked ex-Alpha Ben, who was visibly struggling to process the unfolding

events. “Gather everyone, every single pack member should attend,” Markus commanded, “for an open judgment in front of the pack.”

“King Markus, please…” Ben tried to speak, but when he saw the King’s look, he stopped talking.

Ex-Alpha Ben nodded, his face grim, and immediately began issuing orders through the pack’s

mind-link. Within minutes, the pack members were assembling in the central clearing, a large open space surrounded by towering trees and the main pack house. The tension in the air was thick, the

pack members’ faces a mix of curiosity and fear.

Markus stood at the center of the clearing, his imposing figure commanding attention. As the last

of the pack members arrived, he took a deep breath and began to speak, his voice carrying the

“Members of the Black Forest Pack, I have come here today seeking truth and justice. I have learned troubling things about the way your pack is being led, and I will not leave until these matters are addressed openly and fairly.”

Beta Black, still seething but now visibly wary, stood to the side, his daughter Alena nowhere to be

seen, presumably still being tended to by the pack doctor. Alpha Alex stood near his father, his

face a mask of anger and confusion.

“Alpha Ben, I believe I expressed myself quite clearly when I ordered for ALL the pack members to be present. Where is Luna Alena?” Markus added.

Ex-Alpha Ben paled, “Your Highness, she is still very weak, unable to…” but he was cut by Markus.

“No excuses. You have 5 minutes to bring her here unless you want to send my Praetorian Guard

after her.” Markus replied unimpressed.

Alpha Ben nodded and soon, a weak Alena supported by her mother, made her appearance. Instead of her perfect appearance, she was disheveled, with ruined make-up and a trembling

frame.

Once she arrived, Markus continued, “It has come to my attention that your pack has been using the terror list to control and punish those who stand against the leadership. This is not the way of honor, nor the way of the Goddess. Plus, the terror list was created with a clear and defined purpose and not for personal vendettas.”

Murmurs rippled through the crowd, shock and disbelief evident on their faces. Markus’s eyes swept over them, his gaze piercing.
