As for the mastermind behind it all, Autumn simply hid inside her storage space to tend her crops whenever search parties came looking for her. Once the searches were over, she casually stepped back out.

Leonel and Beckett, both fully grown men standing nearly six feet three, clearly didn’t match the description of the suspects. They passed every inspection without trouble.

Gordon’s rampage had dragged countless innocent people into the mess. After all, what wealthy family didn’t keep a troupe of singers and dancers?

And if you had an entertainment troupe, how could you not have beautiful young white women or charming Black performers?

Or handsome young men to satisfy certain tastes?

The Carters, Blakes, and Yorks all suffered from Gordon’s madness as well, leaving the entire city filled with resentment.

Just as those three families were preparing to dig up Gordon’s dirty secrets and strike back… Disaster struck them first.

The Yorks were the first to fall.

Their business centered around farming. Workers tended the fields during the day and returned home at night.

After all, even plants needed a rest.

Once the final shift had changed over, the workers left without a care, leaving only a handful of guards behind.

That was when Autumn made her move.

This time, she wasn’t there to kill. She was there to steal.

She slipped in and out of her storage space again… And again… And again.

Each time she emerged, an entire section of the plantation disappeared. She took everything. The soil, the crops, the fruits, the eaves and stems… The large planters or the small ones. She cleared out the entire place.

To maximize production and make farming easier, the plantation used vertical farming. Inside each enormous greenhouse were multiple stacked levels, every shelf packed with vegetables and grain.

The design made harvesting convenient. It also made everything wonderfully easy for Autumn to transfer into her storage space.

Two hours later…

When the next shift arrived, they found what had once been a thriving plantation completely empty. Not a single plant remained.

“Help! Someone, help! We’re finished! What are we supposed to do now?!”

People rushed over. The moment they saw the scene, several of them collapsed onto the ground without saying a word before breaking into loud wails. “It’s over… We’re really finished this time…”

This had been a plantation covering more than two thousand acres!

It supplied nearly all the fresh vegetables and grain eaten by the wealthy residents of the central shelter

Now everything was gone.

Before the Yorks could even reach the plantation after receiving the news… The Blakes were hit.

Their hospital suddenly caught fire. Everyone rushed over to put out the flames.

Once the fire was finally under control, someone discovered the boiler room was leaking from the acid rain.

They hurried over to repair the damage.

But when they finally finished and turned around… everything was ruined.

Their warehouses, medicinal herb gardens, herbal processing center, and pharmaceutical factory… Everything had been emptied.

Where had the security guards gone?

Most of them had been called away to deal with the fire and the leaking boiler room.

The two guards who’d stayed behind had simply been knocked unconscious and locked inside the security office.

Before the Carters even had a chance to laugh at the misfortune of the Yorks and the Blakes… Their turn came.

The Carters were responsible for maintaining order throughout the shelter. Every day, the supplies and valuables they collected were stored in various warehouses. Once enough had accumulated, everything would be transported back to the Carters’ headquarters.

With Beckett and Leonel covering her, Autumn quietly visited each warehouse one by one.

The Carters had been saved for last because their patrols operated throughout the night.

The hours before dawn were when the guards were the most exhausted and least alert. It was the perfect time to strike.

This time, Autumn didn’t fire a single gun. She relied entirely on grappling hooks, zip lines, climbing ladders, and rappel gear. Everything was done in complete silence.

The moment she finished one warehouse, she disappeared to the next, while Beckett and his men stayed behind to erase every

race.

Working with incredible efficiency, they emptied all 28 warehouses in the central shelter before dawn.

By the time Autumn reached the final warehouse, she didn’t even have time to see what she’d stolen. She simply grabbed everything within reach and ran.

The group moved like parkour experts, sprinting effortlessly across rooftop after rooftop.

At first, they all ran in the same direction. Then they split into several groups. Finally, everyone scattered on their own

Autumn took the longest route. Her job was to draw every pursuer toward herself and give the others a chance to escape

She wasn’t worried. She had her storage space as her greatest advantage.
