She’d eaten at breakneck pace, yet somehow not a single moment of it had looked undignified.

Scarlett let out a small burp, quickly covered her mouth, and glanced left and right. How embarrassing.

Scarlett looked at him.

“You’re welcome to try. Don’t blame me wher your body explodes.”

Steven’s face twitched.

Scarlett studied him. “This was a level 7 peacock. Of course, to me it’s just a chicken. The meat contains refined essence, but also berserk energy. Normal people can’t handle it.

“It also requires special preparation to neutralize the volatile elements before eating.”

Scarlett said a few more words than she normally would.

Steven nodded. So, that was how it worked. No wonder he’d never heard of this.

Steven relaxed considerably. At least, she wasn’t going to kill him anymore.

Steven took the monkey brain and began eating.

Scarlett reclined in her chair, resting her chin on one elegant hand, dark hair spilling over her fingers.

A warm, gentle smile spread across her face.

It was far beyond the one he’d taken from the Mountain–Shifter Ape.

Scarlett said between bites, “That Greenlight Fruit technically needs about another year before it’s fully ripe.”

Steven asked, “Eating it unripe doesn’t cause problems, does it, sis? I’ve always done it that way.”

Scarlett shook her head. “No problems. Just reduced effectiveness.”

Steven asked again, “How do you know all of this, sis? You’re Draconian, right?”

Scarlett gave him a flat look.

“Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t. Finish eating and get lost.”

Steven started shoveling food faster.

He finished quickly.

But this time, there was no explosive burst of energy.

Instead, a gentler warmth spread through his body.

It was easier to absorb.
