Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 439

439 The Fall of a Divine General

The sensation that tore through Calix was not merely pain but dissolution.

A rending of self so complete that he could no longer distinguish between his flesh and the void that seemed to be swallowing him whole.

A scream tore out of him, raw enough to split the battlefield open.

Calix’s consciousness fractured into a thousand shards of white–hot agony. His vision dissolved into a featureless sea of blinding light, and his limbs trembled beyond his control.

The distant struggle where Alan still clashed with the remaining Divine Generals faltered as Liam and the Bloodfiend stole glances through the chaos, their eyes widening at the spectacle unfolding before them.

Calix stood frozen in place, all defenses gone.

A streak of burning light cut across the battlefield.

Bianca moved like a falling star, her violet blade wreathed in the incandescent form of a phoenix.

The sword drove forward with surgical precision, piercing through Calix’s chest plate as though it were parchment.

From above, Steven’s spear gleaming with a golden radiance that seemed to draw its light from some celestial source.

The tip drove through the crown of Calix’s head with an ease that defied the A–grade armor meant to protect him, piercing skull and brain and emerging through his jaw in a single, devastating stroke.

And still it didn’t end there.

Edric followed a heartbeat later, his blade finding the soft tissue of Calix’s throat and sliding home with a quiet finality.

Fiona and Olivia moved in perfect synchrony, their weapons arcing in mirrored trajectories that removed both of Calix’s arms at the shoulder.

And Nicole, emerging from the shadows like a specter made flesh, drove her blade through his abdomen from behind.

Time itself seemed to hold its breath.

A FiveSigil Divine General, a being of almost mythic power, was reduced to a vessel of mortal wounds

Calix no longer even had the capacity to scream.

Then they pulled back as one, and Calix’s body detonated into a cascade of glittering fragments.

Six figures stood amidst the falling debris, their eyes fixed upon the distant struggle that still raged between Alan and the surviving Divine Generals.

Their chests were heaving, their lips stained with the copper taste of their own blood. But in their eyes lies a bloodlust that had been awakened and would not be easily sated.

Liam and Bloodfiend felt something cold crawl up their spines. For the first time, they were no longer looking at six opponents. They were looking at the shape of future nightmares.

These six–and no, seven of them–would one day become the greatest threats the God Eaters had ever faced.

The army of ants had brought down an elephant, and the metaphor was no longer abstract but visceral.

A Five–Sigil Divine General had just been erased by Divine Knights and Divine Adepts.

Alan watched it unfold and, for once, his expression twisted into something like satisfaction.

This was what he had been building toward.

“Great work!” he laughed.

“And now, Liam, your turn.”

Alan finally began unleashing his own true power without restraint.

The Aether Wind Seal shattered open.

And in that instant, Alan became a living embodiment of the tempest that raged between heaven and earth.

He began to reap the lives of his enemies with a methodical efficiency that bordered on the sublime.

And for the first time, Liam and Bloodfiend felt it. Fear.

Amidst the carnage, one thought rang clear: I can’tshouldn’tdie here.

They were ranked higher than Alan.

And yet, in front of him, there was nothing they could do.

Blood turned to ruin across the battleground.

Another Divine General fell beneath his blade.

“You think you can kill me?” Liam hissed through gritted teeth. “You’re not worthy!”

r

Desperation clawed at their throats as they unleashed their five–sigil pattern powers in a final, desperate gambit.

The air around them trembled with the weight of their combined power.

Alan did not flinch.

His fifth Divine Sigil ignited.

And the fivesigil pattern powers burst forth

And the sky answered.

Clouds gathered overhead in an unnatural, suffocating mass.

Can this still be called human?!

Then it was gone. No one lingered on it. They simply turned away and resumed the slaughter.

In a single blinding instant, the five were crushed beneath the blades.

The earth buckled as if it had been struck by the hand of some indifferent god, splitting open into five vast craters that swallowed everything at their centers.

It was not merely a strike. It was erasure.

The Skyreach Serpent unleashed a barrage of devastating energy pulses, each one tearing through the air toward Alan with annihilating force.

Alan’s expression sharpened.

He danced between the blasts, his movements a blur of evasive grace.

Even he had no intention of engaging a level 6 beast of that scale at his current level. At the very least, he’d need a few more levels first.

“Retreat,” he commanded.

Steven and the others saw the Skyreach Serpent as well. There was no hesitation. They cut their way out immediately, breaking from the battlefield at full speed.

Steven took the lead, forcing a path through the encroaching beasts as they retreated behind him.

As the dust and shattered earth finally began to settle, the aftermath came into view.

Of the five Divine Generals, three no longer showed any signs of life.

Liam and Bloodfiend lay half–buried in massive craters, barely clinging to consciousness as blood poured from their wounds, soaking the broken ground beneath them.

Fear had already taken root in their eyes.

But the Skyreach Serpent was closing in. And that meant they still had a chance to survive.

Liam struggled upright, his body shaking as he forced himself to stand.

r

“Alan…” he rasped, voice rough with blood and defiance. “In the end, you were nothing more than our plaything.”

He let out a broken laugh. “You can’t kill me now!”

For a split second, Alan’s eyes turned cold, sharp enough to cut through intent itself.

Bloodfiend’s expression shifted instantly.

He didn’t even think.

He ran.

This dumbass. Why are you still spitting threats? Does your tongue itch if you stay quiet?
