Chapter 362 You’re Dead
Abigail’s face filled the screen, her grin twisted with cruelty.
“Steven, recognize these guys?”
Maniacal laughter echoed through the room.
Finished
She looked completely unhinged, cackling like a madwoman while she swung her iron whip down across all three captives in turn.
Seamus, Luke, and Chad’s screams tore through the feed without pause.
“Steven, help me!” Seamus wailed, sobbing uncontrollably.
Luke coughed up blood between gasps.
Chad roared through gritted teeth. “You vile witch, if you’ve got the nerve, just kill us already!
“Steven, forget about us! This is a trap! She wants you dead!”
The whip cracked down hard across Chad’s back, ripping another scream from his throat.
Steven’s eyes had already turned bloodshot with fury.
“I’ll kill you, Abigail!”
Abigail let out a wild, mocking laugh.
“Then come and try!
“Don’t rush. One more of your little friends is about to join the party. I’ll make sure I take my time with all of them.
“Let me spell it out for you. This is exactly what happens when you cross me. You killed my brother, you got my father killed, and you actually thought hiding behind some powerful protector meant I’d be too scared to touch you?
“You’ve got fifteen minutes. Get yourself over here right now!
“If you tell the military, or bring anyone with you, I will kill every single one of them, one at a time.
“You want to kill me so badly? Here’s your chance.
“If you’re not standing in front of me in fifteen minutes, I’ll make sure you get to watch one of them die first.”
Abigail leaned in close to the camera, as if she were staring straight into Steven’s eyes.
“Now who should I kill first? Hmm?”
“Bring backup and you’ll never see them alive again!” Abigail cackled once more.

Chapter 362 You’re Dead
The feed cut out.
Murderous intent built inside Steven with terrifying speed.
This was exactly why he wanted Abigail dead.
That woman was a complete and total lunatic.
She had no limits, no boundaries, and nothing holding her back at all.

Choosing this exact moment to strike already told him everything he needed to know. She wanted Team Ashen pinned down and unable to respond.
But who’s this powerful protector she kept referring to? The city lord? And what did she mean about her father dying because of me?
“Going alone is way too dangerous,” Olivia said.
Steven already knew exactly what kind of odds he faced.
This lunatic had almost certainly prepared countless traps and schemes, all designed for one purpose: to end his life.
“I have to go,” Steven said. “She won’t let an opportunity like this slip by, and if I’m not there in fifteen minutes, she will kill someone.”
Every face around him tightened with concern.
“What about asking the academy to step in?” Olivia suggested.
Steven shook his head. “Too risky. She’s a complete lunatic, the kind who’d throw her own life away without a second thought. She wouldn’t care if the entire academy surrounded her.”
“Steven!” Bianca’s voice cracked with worry.
Absolutely not.

Alan came close to saying it outright. If you can’t save them, then don’t try.
“Olivia,” Alan said, “give Steven “The World.‘ Load him up with a few heavy hitters too.”
“Got it!”
The moment Steven heard the name “The World,‘ something tightened in his chest.
They’d actually managed to acquire The World.
Operation Moonfall must have shaken Alan enough to make him stock up on serious contingency
measures.
“Once you’re there,” Alan added, “stall for as much time as you possibly can.”
Steven’s eyes hardened with resolve.
“Understood.”
He fought his way clear of the swarm and made his way toward Olivia.
Once he had The World and the rest of the heavy weaponry in hand, he climbed aboard his war transport
and turned to leave.
“Everyone stay sharp out there!” Steven called back. “All of you, stay safe!”
“Vice Captain, you stay safe too!”
“Steven, protect yourself first!”
“I will,” Steven answered.
His killing intent toward Abigail had never burned this fiercely before.
Elsewhere, in the eastern residential district, in a dark, narrow alley just outside the entrance to an old house, Connor scanned the building with a tracking device, searching for life signatures, and confirmed the exact location of Steven’s grandfather.
