Reborn Apecalypse Doudy War Goddess by My Side

Chapter 221 Confession

“Beast Energy Conversion, activate!”

The crimson light shone down, and pain surged through him.

Everyone had already gone to rest,

Alan took the first watch, with Olivia sitting beside him.

“If it really is them, what are you going to do?”

Alan didn’t answer. He just sat there alone.

A trace of sadness crossed Olivia’s face.

“You don’t have to say it. I already know. You’ll send everyone back, and face it alone, won’t you?”

Alan’s eyes remained calm and unreadable.

As if nothing in the world could stir him.

Olivia choked back a sob and said, “What happened back then wasn’t your fault. So why do you keep locking yourself inside that nightmare?”

“It’s fine if you won’t talk to me. But I’m staying with you. Even if it kills me, I’m going with you!”

Olivia buried her head against her knees, wrapping/her arms around herself.

“Alan, people always say you should never meet someone too unforgettable when you’re young. You never should’ve shown up in my life back then.

“You’re like poison to me. I can’t cut you out anymore.”

“If I ever found out you were dead, I wouldn’t keep living either.”

At last, something stirred in Alan’s heart.

He wanted to say something. The words reached his lips, but in the end, he swallowed them,

Some things were better left unsaid.

“Get some rest.”

His voice was hoarse.

Olivia didn’t move.

She simply lay down beside him, curling herself into a small ball.

Chapter 221 Centrusion

She looked so lonely.

Tears slid from the cornets of her eyes.

Alan glanced at her.

Then he turned and looked up at the night sky.

The darkness above was filled with countless stars

Those stars seemed to connect into faces, one after another, all of them smiling…

Alan’s gaze stayed cold, but as he looked at those faces, endless longing filled his eyes.

Some people, some debts, had to be settled.

The first rays of morning sunlight spread across the land.

Everyone was ready to move.

Their eyes turned toward the safehouse.

Not long after, Steven opened the door and stepped outside.

He looked completely refreshed.

During the night, he had spent nearly ten hours converting energy, turning a total of 250 level 1 beast crystals.

The gains were significant.

“Not bad, huh? What kind of miracle did you pull off to get this kind of treatment from Captain Greenwood?” Peter said in his usual cocky, laid–back way.

Steven said, “I’m young. What’s wrong with giving me a little special care?”

“Young?

“Yeah. I’m only 18.”

“Eighteen? With the way you think, you’re at least 48.”

“Get lost!”

Everyone laughed.

Alan said, “Get ready to move! Let’s reach the first mission site before nightfall.”

“Yes, sir!”

Three level 3 beast birds suddenly charged straight at the convoy.

Alan unleashed the Divine Sigil power.

In an instant, he shot into the air.

Then, he slashed sideways!

It sounded like steel leaving its sheath.

Shing!

Chapter 244

‘entesalon

The next moment, Steven watched as the three level 3 beast birds fell from the sky, raining blood everywhere.

Even the ones that came after them were all cut down by Alan’s blade,

Not a single beast managed to get close to the convoy.

Watching from inside the car, Steven was in awe

“Captain Greenwood’s strength is insane.”

Olivia smiled. “You’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg. You haven’t seen him at his strongest.”

Whenever she talked about Alan, her eyes sparkled with admiration,

Steven chuckled. “Olivia, you and the captain are a thing, right?”

The question caught her off guard.

After a moment, she let out a bitter laugh. “Me, with him? Please. He’s got that serious face all day. If I married a man like that, I’d drive myself crazy.”

Steven smiled. Eyes didn’t lie.

She obviously liked him.

“From the way he looks at you sometimes, I think he likes you too.”
