Steven went dead silent.

He’d forgotten to mute his mic.

Both Steven and Olivia hurriedly muted their headsets.

Looking slightly embarrassed, Olivia asked, “Really?”

Steven nodded. “Really,”

Olivia looked genuinely happy.

“I hope you’re right.”

She smiled softly. Whether Alan liked her back didn’t matter. As long as she liked him, that was enough.

Outside, Alan continued his relentless slaughter.

One beast bird after another dropped from the sky.

They made it safely to the other side without any major incidents.

The war vehicles roared forward at full speed.

Alan said, “Move!”

Olivia quickly checked the mission data. “The next mission point is 37 miles north!”

“We leave now. Once the sun goes down, we find somewhere to rest,” Alan commanded.

Everyone moved forward in an orderly formation.

The deployment of the first Celestial Eye had gone pretty smoothly.

Still, Steven couldn’t shake the feeling that the worst was yet to come.

The twelve of them kept moving, staying alert to everything around them.

“Look. Where are they?”

Steven quickly scanned the area.

His gaze swept across the terrain until he spotted movement within a dense patch of forest.

The warg was bounding through the trees. It wasn’t moving at full speed.

“There!”

Steven pointed toward the forest.

Alan could only make out a faint movement in the distance.

Without hesitating, he grabbed Steven and gave chase again.
