Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 359

In the VIP ward of the downtown hospital.

After several hours of emergency treatment, Alistair finally regained consciousness. Wearing an oxygen mask, his face was an ashen gray. His once shrewd and sharp eyes were now incredibly cloudy. Completely drained of his vitality, he looked as if he had aged another ten years.

“Dad, you're awake?” Warren quickly stepped forward with a glass of warm water, trying to soothe him carefully. “The doctor said you suffered a severe shock and absolutely cannot afford to get angry. You need to rest...”

Slap!

Before he could finish, Alistair summoned an unknown strength and slapped Warren hard across the face.

“This is all because of you, you fool!” Alistair's chest heaved violently as he pointed a trembling finger at his son, cursing him. “When I told you to bring Phoenix back, if you had fulfilled even a fraction of your duty as a father and nurtured her, would our family be in this situation today? But what did you do? For the sake of that unpresentable illegitimate daughter, you let the entire family trample and humiliate Phoenix! You forced a dragon that could have elevated our family into a reaper that came back for our lives!”

The more he spoke, the more agitated he became, forcing out tears of bitter regret. “I was a brilliant man my whole life. How did I give birth to a useless failure like you who ruins everything you touch!”

Warren clutched his red, swollen cheek, unable to lift his head under the scolding. How could he not feel remorse? If he had chosen to win Phoenix over, with such a ruthlessly capable daughter by his side, he would have secured his position as the patriarch long ago.

But... the interests and connections tied to Phoebe had been too enticing. He simply couldn't let them go.

“The Prescott Group... it's all gone...” After venting his anger, Alistair slumped back onto the hospital bed, staring at the stark white ceiling, his voice filled with endless desolation. “The empire I spent half my life building has ended up serving someone else's agenda.”

“Dad, don't be so pessimistic,” Warren argued, still unwilling to give up. “Even if she has the company now, it still bears the Prescott name! As long as we're still on the board, we can take our time and wait for a chance to kick that bitch out and regain control!”

Alistair turned his head to look at his delusional son, letting out a despairing, bitter laugh. “How did I raise such a stupid creature...”

“Can't you see it yet? That series of reforms she announced at the meeting was a systematic stripping of our premium assets! Once those core projects are entirely transferred to her Ignis Global, do you really think she'll keep this mess of a company around?”

Hearing this, Warren's face drained of color, and a violent shudder ran down his spine. “She... how could she dare!”

Once the company became a worthless, empty shell, Phoenix would kick it to the curb without a second thought, leaving it to face bankruptcy and liquidation on its own!

“She didn't come back to seize power...” Alistair closed his eyes in agony, tears of regret sliding down his wrinkled face as his voice shook uncontrollably. “She came to uproot the entire Prescott family and grind our bones to dust!”

On the top floor of the Prescott Group tower.

Phoenix leaned back in the leather chair of the CEO's office, her gaze passing through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows to look at the bustling city below, though her eyes remained unfocused.
