Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 340

Pierce: [I'm waiting outside.]

Phoenix: [Okay.]

Putting her phone away, she turned to Lewis. "I have to step out to handle something. Stay here, wait for him to finish, and make sure you follow all his medical instructions."

"I will!" Lewis nodded firmly, his eyes locking back onto the closed door of the hospital room.

Outside the clinic, Pierce was leaning against the door of his car, his head slightly bowed in deep thought.

Phoenix didn't rush over. Instead, she stood where she was, quietly observing him as if admiring a flawless painting.

Today, Pierce wore a sharply tailored dark-green suit. His hair was styled with meticulous precision, radiating an untouchable, aristocratic elegance. The faint trace of melancholy resting between his brows only added to his brooding charm, making it impossible not to want to unravel the story behind the man.

As if sensing her gaze, Pierce looked up, his eyes locking directly with Phoenix's appreciative stare.

Phoenix offered a soft smile and walked over. "How did you even find this place, Pierce?"

Pierce shrugged, acting as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "I can find you no matter where you are. But, if you prefer, you can assume I planted a tracker on you."

With that, he lifted his hand, showing off the men's band of 'The Celestial' resting on his ring finger. "Ever since Silas Sterling put a hit out on us, I decided to play it safe. I had tracking chips installed in both of our rings."

"??"

Phoenix paused, instinctively looking down at the ring on her own finger. "When did you do that? Why didn't I know about this?"

"If you knew, you probably wouldn't have agreed to wear it," Pierce said, his lips curling up into a smirk, though a dark gleam flashed in his eyes. "After all, a lone wolf like you hates letting anyone track your movements."

Phoenix frowned slightly. "Then why are you telling me now?"

"Because... I want to be honest with you." Pierce's expression turned intensely serious, his gaze burning into hers. "I could lie to the rest of the world, but when it comes to you... I can't."

Phoenix was slightly taken aback. Something deep within her chest was quietly stirred. She let out a small scoff to mask the feeling, pulling the car door open and sliding into the seat.

"I assume you didn't track me down just for small talk, Pierce?"

Pierce gave her a long, unreadable look before getting into the car as well, sitting exceptionally close to her.
