The Prescott Estate.
Alistair lounged comfortably in a traditional armchair, humming along to a soft tune.
Lawrence approached quietly, keeping his head bowed as he stopped beside the chair. "Mr. Prescott, Ms. Prescott had something delivered for you."
Alistair opened his eyes, looking mildly surprised. "Phoenix sent me something out of the blue? Hmm... let whoever it is come in."
"Right away, sir." Lawrence nodded and stepped back.
Alistair stood up, leaning on his cane as he walked into the main hall.
When he laid eyes on Yolanda, he paused. She was an unfamiliar face, but she had a bright, energetic aura about her.
"Mr. Prescott, I'm Yolanda Young, Ms. Prescott's assistant. She was dining at Elysian Manor today and found their Mock Crab Royale absolutely exquisite, so she asked me to pack a serving and bring it straight to you."
"Oh?"
Alistair raised an eyebrow. He hadn't realized Phoenix was dining at Elysian Manor today.
That establishment wasn't a place just anyone could walk into. Had she really gone all the way there just for a meal?
"That's very thoughtful of her. Let an old man have a taste." Alistair offered a warm, grandfatherly smile.
Yolanda had expected the imposing patriarch to be incredibly stern, but she was pleasantly surprised by how approachable he seemed.
"Let me set the table for you, Mr. Prescott."
She carefully opened the elegant takeout containers, arranging the intricate dishes across the dining table.
Compared to the visually extravagant sides, the Mock Crab Royale looked somewhat plain. Yet beneath that unassuming appearance lay Elysian Manor's most fiercely guarded culinary masterpiece.
Alistair eagerly took his first bite, a look of deep satisfaction immediately crossing his face.
"Excellent! It certainly lives up to its reputation. Phoenix is a good girl for remembering me."
He paused, glancing at Yolanda. "Tell me, young lady, did Phoenix go to Elysian Manor purely to eat?"
"Yes, sir!" Yolanda lied smoothly without missing a beat. "Ms. Prescott mentioned that you love crab, but since real crab is too cooling for your health, she heard this restaurant had a dish that perfectly replicates the flavor without the negative effects. She went specifically to taste-test it for you."
Alistair's eyes lit up, and any lingering trace of suspicion completely melted away.
"That girl truly does care for this old man." He sighed warmly, taking another bite of the faux crab. "Incredible. Truly incredible. I love it."
Yolanda offered a polite smile. "I'm so glad you enjoy it, Mr. Prescott. I still need to report back to Ms. Prescott, so I'll leave you to your meal."
"Very well. Lawrence, see her out."
Lawrence escorted Yolanda to the front gates.
Alistair watched her leave, his gaze growing dark and thoughtful. "It seems Phoenix is extending an olive branch. Now that she's formally severed ties with Warren's bloodline, the two sides are at war, which makes my stance the deciding factor."
"Given this show of filial piety, I won't interfere in their little feud. As long as it doesn't damage the Prescott Group's bottom line, they can tear each other apart for all I care."
Any doubts he had harbored earlier regarding Phoenix demanding personnel transfers or Ethan's sudden return to the company evaporated instantly.
