Yolanda smiled shyly. "Working for you, I have to be thorough. Knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to winning every battle. It never hurts to gather more information."
"Not bad. That's commendable." Phoenix nodded in approval before her tone shifted. "However, I'm not here today to meet this VIP you're talking about."
"Huh? Then what..."
"To eat."
Yolanda froze, completely thrown off by the answer.
She assumed they had come all the way here to meet some major figure, maybe orchestrate some grand scheme. But to say they were just here to eat? That was way too casual.
"Yolanda, things aren't always as complicated as you think," Phoenix explained nonchalantly as she took a seat. "I just wanted to try their famous Mock Crab Royale. I've heard it's absolutely fantastic."
"Oh, right. The Mock Crab Royale here is pretty famous." Yolanda relaxed, brushing her overthinking aside. "But what they're really known for are the exclusive high-end auctions they host..."
She suddenly paused, looking sharply at Phoenix.
Even if she claimed she was here to eat, who was to say she wouldn't casually attend the auction while she was at it?
Soon after, Yolanda instructed the server, and a spread of exquisite dishes filled the table.
Looking at the feast before her, Yolanda's appetite flared, and she couldn't stop swallowing nervously. But since Phoenix hadn't touched anything yet, she didn't dare cross the line.
"Go ahead and eat, Yolanda."
"Aren't you going to eat, Phoenix?" Yolanda asked curiously.
Phoenix checked the time on her phone, stood up slowly, and smoothed her clothes. "From now on, stay right here and enjoy this meal."
"Huh?" Yolanda stared blankly at her.
"Remember, if anyone asks, we came here today strictly for a meal. Got it?"
Seeing the serious look on Phoenix's face, Yolanda didn't fully understand, but if she said it, there had to be a reason.
"I understand! Today, we are just here to eat. No other motives."
"Good. Smart girl."
Phoenix nodded approvingly, turned, and walked toward the lounge attached to the private room, which had a secondary exit.
Yolanda was incredibly curious, but she stuck to her role as an assistant. She didn't ask questions and definitely didn't make wild guesses.
Instead, she focused her attention on the delicious feast in front of her. If she was ordered to eat, then... she was going to enjoy every bite. Orders were orders.
