Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 263

"What else is there, Pierce?"

"My wife's accounts are settled, but as for the injuries I sustained—" Pierce scoffed coldly, slowly taking off his jacket to reveal the bandages wrapped around his ribs.

A stark, crimson stain seeped through the white gauze, looking particularly alarming under the lights.

He lifted his gaze, a violent ruthlessness surging in his eyes. "Alistair, shouldn't the Prescott family give me an explanation as well?"

Watching Pierce's actions, Phoenix furrowed her brows. This man... was still venting her anger for her.

Alistair took a deep breath. Facing Pierce's aggressive intimidation, he knew this wouldn't end easily. He immediately barked out an order. "Bring the family whip!"

Before his voice faded, the butler had already brought out a long, black leather strap with both hands.

Alistair gripped the handle tightly, his eyes burning as he glared fiercely at Warren.

"Warren, I sentence you to thirty lashes to give Pierce the justice he deserves. Do you accept this punishment?"

Warren clenched his jaw, a deep sense of humiliation churning violently in his chest. However, circumstances forced his hand. Facing a terrifying force like Pierce, he had no choice but to submit.

"Alistair, I... accept the punishment."

"Good!"

Alistair flicked his wrist, and the heavy strap sliced through the air, landing with a loud crack squarely on Warren's back.

The agonizing pain of flesh tearing exploded instantly. Warren's face went deathly pale, and his whole body trembled uncontrollably.

In his daze, memories overlapped with reality. When Phoenix had first returned to the family and "acted out," he had been subjected to the same family discipline because of her. It had been thirty lashes back then, too. What was being whipped in that moment wasn't just his body, but his dignity as the head of the family.

Humiliation and toxic resentment grew wildly in Warren's heart. Right now, he only had one thought: Phoenix had to die.

The thirty lashes ended.

Warren was barely standing, his back a bloody, mangled mess. He was in no condition to attend the dinner and had to be supported by Vanessa and Julian as they rushed him to the hospital. Phoebe was too ashamed to stick around, and with Sebastian looking mentally unstable, the family left in utter disgrace.

"Let the dinner begin."

Alistair waved his hand wearily, signaling the butler to seat the guests.
