No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 867

He had never felt this way before.

Having possessed her love made the thought of losing it a million times scarier.

Before, he only feared never winning her heart.

Now, the dread of waking up to find their romance was just a fading dream haunted him constantly.

Held tightly in Damian's embrace, Scarlett felt his immense strength, yet caught the faint tremble in his chest.

At that moment, a surge of tender sympathy flooded her heart.

She reached up, gently patting his forearm, whispering softly, "Damian, I'm not going back—I was just speaking hypothetically."

Damian tightened his embrace stubbornly, "Not even hypothetically!"

This terrifying fear of loss cut deep into his chest.

Yet this very ache ground his feelings in reality, convincing him these magical days weren't a hallucination.

Scarlett parted her lips to reassure him further, when Nathan's voice echoed from down the hall, "Scarlett, done washing up yet?"

Hearing her brother, Scarlett called back hastily, "Almost! We'll be right out!"

She nudged Damian's arm lightly, "My brother's calling—let's head out."

Damian gave a subdued nod, "Alright."

Reading his gloom, Scarlett turned around slowly, looking up into his eyes with a tender smile, "Stop overthinking it, okay? Let's go grab dinner."

Damian stared down at her, eyes locked in stubborn desire, "Promise me I'll be the only man in your life from now on?"

He looked like a heartbroken boy who'd never smile again if she refused.

Unable to resist his gaze, Scarlett yielded, "Alright, I promise—only you from now on."

A bright grin finally broke across Damian's face upon hearing her promise.

Seeing him smile, Scarlett raised a hand to gently pinch his cheek, "There's that smile. Now come on, let's eat."

Like a pampered kid, Damian bounced back instantly, beaming, "Deal, let me grab dinner."

During the simple dinner, Damian dragged out his meal for forty whole minutes just to delay his departure, finally setting down his fork.

Placing his cutlery down, he looked up and announced, "I'm all finished."

Scarlett had finished ages ago, staring at him with affectionate exasperation.
