No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1084

The woman smirked. "Those idiots. Do they think they can find me? They want a chase? Well, I'll make sure it'll cost them their lives."

Noelle got into the car and left. Emma sat beside her.

Emma looked at her. "Noelle, now that the trial is over, you won't have a calm school life. We can ease the media, but there'll be more reporters coming after you."

Noelle glanced over. "I know. I'll go back to the apartment tonight. You don't have to worry about me."

Emma patted Noelle's hand. "Good."

Noelle smiled. "You should take care of yourself, Mrs. Greene."

The car stopped outside the hospital.

Emma got out of the car. She turned to Noelle and said, "Now I can focus on my recovery. If you run into any problems, don't hesitate to go to Cedric.

"We owe you that much. No need to be shy."

Noelle nodded. "Don't worry. I won't."

Emma smiled. "Good. I'll head back inside. Cedric, take Ms. Liddell back."

Emma gave Cedric a knowing look before heading into the hospital. Noelle remained where she was, watching Emma walk inside before she looked up at Cedric.

Cedric met her gaze. "I'll take you back to your apartment. You might want to find somewhere to relax for the next two days."

"Well, there is a place I want to go." Noelle looked up at him. "Are you free? Come with me."

Cedric tilted his head. "Do you want to visit your parents?"

"Yes." Noelle smiled. "I knew you'd guess what I was thinking."

Noelle glanced at the car, then at Cedric. "I'm going, then."

Cedric waved. "I'll come pick you up later."

"Okay." Noelle turned and walked toward the car parked by the roadside.

Cedric had a look of relief as he watched her retreating figure. Alfred came up beside him. "Well? Did your relationship with Nelly improve?"

Cedric lit a cigarette. "Cut the crap."

"Come on, look at that face. You're happy. Stop pretending." Alfred nudged Cedric's shoulder.

He continued, "Now that the trial's over, the biggest obstacle between you two is gone. Hurry up and win her back. I'm waiting for your wedding."

Cedric didn't take a drag from his cigarette and smiled uncontrollably. He then turned to Alfred. "Did you find anything about Carl Liddell?"
