The lawyer stated, "Ms. Liddell, my client did not know of this. She had been chased out when that happened and had no idea what her ex-husband was planning.

"Later, she couldn't bear it anymore and ran away, disappearing for years without even finalizing the divorce. This time, she entrusted me not only to handle matters related to Xenia's death but also to file for divorce."

Noelle stared at the lawyer. "Do you think I'd believe that?"

The lawyer shrugged. "If you don't believe me, you're free to call the police and have it investigated."

Call the police? The events happened so long ago. How could they possibly investigate now?

They didn't even know where Xenia's mother was. And if the woman chose to deny everything until her dying breath, there would be nothing anyone could do.

Besides, according to the neighbors, Xenia's mother was frequently beaten and kicked out of the house.

The lawyer left. Noelle stared at his retreating figure. "There's something shady going on."

Cedric walked up beside her. "In a way, it's a good thing. We wouldn't have learned any of this if she hadn't sent a lawyer."

Jeremy nodded. "Yes, the truth will prevail. Xenia's mother is very bold. She was in hiding yet suddenly showed up. She must be confident we'll never catch her."

Carl's eyes sharpened. "These people will pay for what they've done."

Frank glanced at him. "They absolutely will."

Noelle walked out of the courthouse and turned to Emma. "It's over."

Emma nodded. "Yes. It's over."

Just then, a group of reporters rushed up. All of them had come for Noelle.

"Ms. Liddell, rumors say your brother beat Xenia so badly she was hospitalized and died from labor. Is that true?"

"Ms. Liddell, did your brother act out because the child wasn't his? Or was it all a setup by the Liddell family to frame Mrs. Merlock?"

"Ms. Liddell, can you clarify?"

Blake added, "If you have any more questions, come at me. Leave my sister out of it."

Another reporter asked, "But Mr. Liddell, you once blamed Noelle for your injuries."

Blake looked embarrassed. "That's my biggest regret. I was deceived by Xenia and ended up hurting my sister. So, let me make it clear: if anyone dares to speak ill of my sister again, I won't let it slide."

Noelle watched her brothers block the reporters. Cedric hummed. "No need to watch the show. Let's go."

Noelle pulled her gaze away. "Okay."

It was over now. She had no intention of reconciling with her brothers. Instead, she would cut ties, and they could live their separate lives.

After Noelle left, a car parked nearby had been watching the entire time. Inside, a woman asked, "Is everything arranged?"

The person nodded. "Yes. Everything's in place. No one will find out."
