My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 45

Seraphina and Tiffany had planned to grab hotpot for lunch.

Having just returned from a business trip, Tiffany was practically dying to catch up with her best friend.

She was genuinely worried about Seraphina.

Anyone with eyes could see Sebastian was a piece of work, and he absolutely wouldn't let things go easily.

As soon as Seraphina walked into the restaurant, Tiffany waved frantically. "Over here, Sera!"

Seraphina walked over and took the seat across from her.

Tiffany immediately scanned her up and down, a worried frown creasing her forehead. "Why do you look so thin? Aren't pregnant women supposed to put on weight? Is the Langford family mistreating you?"

"No, nothing like that," Seraphina said with a soft smile. "I just haven't had much of an appetite lately."

"It's because of that bastard Sebastian, isn't it?" Tiffany's temper immediately flared. "Did he go harassing you again?"

Remembering the kiss from earlier that morning, Seraphina's cheeks warmed. "It's been handled."

Tiffany instantly caught the pink flush spreading across her friend's face. "Handled? Then why are you blushing? What exactly happened?"

Seraphina picked up her water glass and took a quick sip. "It's nothing, really."

"Seraphina Simmons, you can't fool me. You better spill everything," Tiffany demanded, leaning over the table with sparkling, inquisitive eyes.

After a brief hesitation, Seraphina relented and gave a quick rundown of the morning's events.

The moment she mentioned Lucian swooping in and kissing her, Tiffany got so excited she practically leaped out of her booth.

"What?! Lucian Langford actually kissed you?!"

"Keep your voice down!" Seraphina hissed, scrambling to cover her friend's mouth, her face completely crimson.

Tiffany pulled her hand away, lowering her voice but still vibrating with excitement. "And then? What did it feel like? Tell me, tell me!"

This was Lucian Langford they were talking about!

Her traitorous heart started racing all over again.

"Enough about me," Seraphina said, quickly changing the subject. "How was your business trip?"

Tiffany nodded. "It was fine, just exhausting. Oh right, you mentioned you needed my advice on something. What's up?"

Seraphina's expression grew serious. "I wanted to know, if I want to legally isolate my thirty percent of the shares so I have zero involvement in the Simmons Group's operations, what's the process?"

Tiffany blinked in surprise. "You want to separate your shares entirely? Won't Samuel absolutely lose his mind?"

"I don't care. They belong to me," Seraphina stated, a chilling resolve flashing in her eyes. "He slapped me across the face and still expects me to hand over my shares like an obedient little girl. He's dreaming."

"What?! That old bastard actually laid a hand on you? Just you wait, I'm calling someone—"

"Tiff," Seraphina said, placing a steadying hand over hers. "It's fine. I can handle him myself."

Tiffany let out a heavy sigh. "Fine. I'll consult my lawyers about the shares and let you know what they say."
