"You two..." he stammered, his voice hoarse. "Are you really..."
Sebastian, a man who valued his ego above life itself, could hardly stomach such a humiliation. He refused to believe it.
How could Seraphina move on so quickly?
"Mr. Sullivan, it's perfectly normal for a married couple to share a kiss," Lucian stated casually. "If there's nothing else, I suggest you stop pestering my wife."
His tone was calm, yet it radiated an intense, suffocating pressure.
Lucian glanced down at Seraphina, his voice softening. "You're heading out? Let me give you a ride."
Seraphina nodded mechanically, still completely dazed by the sudden turn of events.
Snapping back to reality, she finally found her voice. "I'm meeting Tiff."
Keeping his arm firmly around her waist, Lucian guided her toward the car parked by the curb.
He then instructed Susan to fetch the documents he had left on his desk.
From beginning to end, they treated Sebastian as if he were entirely invisible.
Rooted to the spot, Sebastian stared at their retreating backs, his expression turning thunderous.
They quickly got into the car and smoothly drove away.
Sebastian was still replaying the scene in his head.
That kiss.
Seraphina hadn't pushed him away.
She hadn't rejected Lucian's touch.
Had she genuinely started falling for Lucian?
Hmph! What a fickle woman!
"Fine," Sebastian spat venomously. "Don't you dare regret this, Seraphina."
.....
Inside the car, Seraphina felt a wave of guilt. "I'm so sorry. I had no idea he would actually show up at our doorstep."
Sebastian was clearly getting desperate.
The only reason he had rushed their engagement back then was to get his hands on her shares.
Seraphina knew his true intentions, but she never imagined he'd be brazen enough to ambush her at home.
Seeing that Lucian remained silent, she forced herself to continue. "I apologize. If you find all of this too troublesome... we can just get a divorce."
The word 'divorce' hit him like a forbidden curse, instantly snapping Lucian out of his trance.
He blinked, turning to her. "What did you just say?"
She couldn't begin to guess what he was thinking, but he seemed entirely distracted. Surely he wasn't thinking about that... kiss?
That was highly unlikely.
While Lucian was famously indifferent to women, there was no way that was his first kiss, right?
Their bodies had been tangled in a fierce heat that one night, but both had been caught in a hazy blur, leaving her with no distinct memory of the details.
Just thinking about it made Seraphina's cheeks flush with heat.
Watching her retreating figure until she was out of sight.
Lucian pulled out his phone and made a call.
"Christian, what did your first kiss feel like?"
Christian checked the caller ID.
Yes, it was definitely his boss on the line.
After a brief pause, he answered, "Uh, my heart raced, and my blood pumped like crazy."
Was a racing heart the only thing?
Lucian pressed his lips together. The moment he had kissed her, his mind went completely blank, and his chest felt like it was going to explode.
And the sweet taste of her... it was impossible to forget.
