"Hi everyone, I'm Clara Lambert."
After a brief introduction at the front of the class, Clara calmly walked over to the desk Tobias had assigned her.
Her new classmates stared at her with a mix of shock and terror.
Even though no one saw exactly what had happened in the hallway blur, it was obvious Clara was the one who had snatched the wig off Serena's head.
They had expected a timid country girl. Instead, they got an absolute predator.
The Academy's untouchable queen had been dethroned in an instant!
Clara completely ignored their stares.
It was a French period, and the teacher immediately handed out a pop quiz.
[Ding! New Task!]
[An elite heiress must possess stellar academic scores. Task: Complete the French exam independently and achieve a passing grade.]
Clara sighed.
The system was clearly making sure she didn't just fill in random answers again.
The test was graded on an A-F scale, meaning she needed at least a C to pass.
This was going to be brutal.
Clara worked her way through the test, constantly flipping through her dictionary.
She realized her foundational knowledge was practically non-existent. Even with the system's newly granted memory and comprehension boosts, she was struggling.
She seriously considered hiring a private tutor to cram three years of high school curriculum.
But tutors were expensive, and she was dead broke.
Asking her father for money had never been her style.
She needed to build her own nest egg so she wouldn't be dependent on anyone.
[Ding! Host has completed the exam. Grading in progress...]
[Ding! Final Grade: F!]
[Ding! Task Fai—]
"Wait!" Clara muttered frantically. "Let me try again!"
She could definitely get used to this.
Studying while making money—it was the ultimate win-win.
"Um..."
A hesitant voice broke her concentration.
Clara turned to see her desk mate, a girl with glasses and a tight ponytail.
She remembered the girl introducing herself as Chelsea Zane, the class academic representative.
"Clara, I saw you really struggling with the test earlier, so I didn't want to interrupt," Chelsea said nervously. "But you changed a lot of those answers, and they're still wrong. This one should be C, and that one should be A..."
Clara leaned in, genuinely curious. "Why?"
"This question tests the present perfect continuous tense. The verb forms here don't match..."
Chelsea explained the grammar rules flawlessly, and Clara absorbed every word.
Before they knew it, they had reviewed the entire paper, and the bell for the next period rang.
