Chapter 583: Her Wolf Mates

(Author’s POV)

You killed my beloved, my queen; you fucking Lycans~ .... Now, I, Lord Aamon, Marquis of Hell, will take away your precious little mate’s life to make it even. You will all behold her agonizing demise firsthand," he bellowed in Satanic cadence. With another wrathful roar, he flung the jagged blue and angry bolt, aiming straight for Myra. "DIE, THIS TIME FOR REAL~~~ .... YOU FUCKING BITCH. NOW, DIEEEEE~~~~~~"

The brothers’ faces turned pallid with raw terror as they all ran towards her at the same time like a bat out of hell. Drey, who was the closest to Myra, pushed his body on the line to shield her. He looked at Myra with a tender, reverent gaze, then back at the spark coming their way. He was ready to take on anything and everything to save his dear mate, even though he could get harmed badly or be killed. He would do it without any regret.

He thumped his right forepaw on the ground and snarled, trying to brace himself for the impact. But when it was about to touch his fur, the bolt of lightning scattered like glass shreds and halted in its place. Once again, the time had come to a standstill.

Drey’s breath hitched, his eyes ready to pop out of their sockets when he saw the blue flash just inches away from his face. Instinctively, he turned around and looked at Myra, and so did all the other brothers.

Myra’s irises had changed their hues. The inner ring turned a shade close to warm gold, and the outer one shifted into a brilliant silver. They were glowing magnificently as her right hand was raised to signal the stop. The silver beams of the full moon were cascading down on her, bathing her in its full glory. The moon goddess was fulfilling her promise, providing Myra a little bit of her powers.

She looked at Aamon, who, unlike before, stood rooted in his spot. His posture remained as is. Glaring at him with intense fury, she flicked her wrist and directed the blazing flash back at him with mighty power. Not so strangely, it obeyed her command. The coruscation bolted towards Aamon and Elisa at breakneck speed.

With no hindrance or obstacle, the moment the powerful spark connected with his body, the surroundings exploded like a star bursting into white fire. He had already exhausted his demon core for that very spark, aiming for it to kill Myra, yet ironically it was he whose name was written on it.

The other lesser demons’ bodies started exploding one by one, as if a large chain of garland firecrackers were laid on the ground.

Alex, Rave and Leo all came to Myra’s side as they watched the bodies erupting and detonating simultaneously from the sidelines. It looked brilliant, eerily beautiful and immensely dreadful.

Once every last body was burnt to their core, the loud, almost ear shattering sound faded away, leaving only a strange and heavy quiet behind.

The place where Aamon and Elisa had been a moment ago was now empty, marked by a deep smoking hole and a pungent smell, which soon was swept away and dispersed by the gentle passing wind.

For a few seconds, none of them moved or said anything. They were all trying to soak in what had just happened to them.

If it were earlier, it would have frightened Myra to the point she would be shuddering and running away from them. But now, standing just a few inches away from the four of them, instead of feeling apprehensive, she felt safe and sound, as if she belonged with them. As if these dilapidated, ominous surroundings were her peaceful abode, her home. Because they were present by her side.

As she was deep in her thoughts, unknowingly, she released her pheromones. Her flowery-citrus odour danced around in the air, captivating all four wolves. Their eyes glowed between red and gold even more now.

They took a step closer to Myra. She batted her eyelashes and backed off by reflex. Seeing her reaction, they all stopped midway. Then, realization dawned on them. They were still in their wolf forms.

Quickly, each one of them changed back into their human form.

Myra’s breath was caught in her throat; her eyes were ready to pop out at the scene in front of her; her mouth hung open. ’Holy crap~ .... what in the world are those insane~ ....’ Her thoughts trailed. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
