“She’d have to want to be with him,” Remi said. “What good would it do to force her back if her heart wasn’t in it?”
Stella fell silent.
Well…
That did not seem like something Aaron would care about.
If he truly loved a woman, how could he possibly tolerate her marrying someone else?
Even if all he could keep was her body, he would probably still lock her beside him.
Just look at Yara.
Had Aaron not kept her trapped at his side all this time?
Yara had even tried to take her own life and escape him before.
That alone made it obvious she did not love him.
Yet Aaron had still refused to let her go.
What a waste of such a handsome face.
One woman after another wanted nothing to do with him.
Clearly, the problem was not with the women.
It was entirely him.
Women did not like him.
Even Stella, his own sister, could not stand him.
Perhaps no woman ever would.
“Then if Amos makes his move against General Litt tonight, Aaron might also go after him,” Stella said.
“Definitely,” Remi replied. “For years, whenever Amos has tried to do anything, your brother has found some way to interfere.”
They were used to it by now.
Aaron’s hatred for Amos was nothing new, and neither was his habit of sabotaging him.
“He’s not my brother.”
Remi’s repeated references to “your brother” were beginning to irritate Stella.
What brother?
If Aaron had truly seen her as his sister, he never would have done something so despicable.
For the sake of his own interests, he had been willing to hand over his own sister’s life.
His biological sister.
If that was how he treated family, would any woman beside him also be expected to sacrifice herself whenever his interests demanded it?
