“I’m heading to the airport now. I’m flying straight to Meridia.”
“That fast?”
Stella sounded surprised that Jennifer had managed to get away from Leon so quickly.
After all, she had given him twenty-four hours.
Not even one hour had passed, yet Jennifer was already out of the villa.
Just how heavily did Leon’s heart lean toward Monique?
But none of that mattered anymore.
Once Jennifer cut ties with him for good, whoever he cared about would be his problem.
“Yes. That fast,” Jennifer replied.
“Now do you believe me? Everything I told you was right.”
How could Jennifer possibly build a life with a man like Leon?
“Don’t release Monique,” Jennifer said suddenly.
A hard edge entered her voice at the mention of the woman.
“I know,” Stella replied.
Of course she would not let Monique go that easily.
Jennifer’s reputation had been destroyed throughout Harbor City.
Whether the Redson family had orchestrated the scandal or Monique had done it herself, someone needed to publicly set the record straight.
Monique would be released only when Jennifer was satisfied with the outcome.
“I’m heading to the airport now.”
Jennifer felt a rush of warmth at how effortlessly Stella understood her.
“Do you need money?”
“No.”
Money was not a problem.
“Leon is calling me again,” Stella said.
“Keep him occupied.”
Jennifer had not left Harbor City yet.
That bastard could change his mind at any moment and have her dragged back.
Until she was safely gone, Stella needed to keep him distracted.
“Leave it to me.”
After ending the call, Jennifer watched the scenery race past outside the car window.
She had lived in this city for years.
Yet now that she was leaving, she felt nothing.
