At first, Amos had only retaliated against the Hogarth family.
But soon, he went on the offensive.
He divided his people into separate teams and began targeting everything Felix and Aaron wanted, seizing every opportunity before they could.
In the past, he would never have dared.
Whenever possible, Amos had avoided confronting Aaron directly.
Now, however, he met him head-on.
And every strike landed with unnerving precision.
Felix and Aaron were both taking heavy losses.
Felix let out a quiet laugh.
“He doesn’t have the brains for this, huh?”
“He doesn’t,” Aaron replied coldly.
That much was true.
“So Stella really has been helping him all this time?”
Aaron fell silent.
Ever since Stella’s last call, she had not contacted either of them again.
They had continued trying to reach her and searching for her whereabouts, but every attempt had failed.
They had not found a single useful lead.
Yet the evidence that she was helping Amos grew clearer by the day.
Aaron rubbed his aching brow.
“We need to bring her back immediately.”
That damned girl had clearly been pushed too far this time.
But why was she so furious?
Things like this happened all the time within the Hogarth family.
Why couldn’t she accept that?
Felix narrowed his eyes.
“I warned you before. Once she left Eirden, finding her again would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.”
After Stella had been brought back the last time, Felix had repeatedly warned Aaron to keep a close watch on her.
Felix rose, then seemed to remember something.
“Amos is also provoking General Litt. He claims he’s avenging Evan.”
Aaron froze.
