Remi had already told her it was safe to answer.
If Stella still refused, what could it be besides complete disappointment?
Stella said nothing.
Disappointed?
That word barely covered it.
She no longer even knew what to say about Felix and Aaron.
…
Meanwhile, in Harbor City, Jennifer never expected one of Felix’s men to show up at her home.
She recognized him.
He used to follow Jack around.
Because of Stella, Jennifer had always paid closer attention to the people around Felix.
The man walked in, took Jennifer’s phone, and immediately started calling Stella.
He offered no explanation whatsoever.
Jennifer did not appreciate that.
After several unanswered calls, the man finally set the phone down and looked at her.
“Sorry for the intrusion.”
Then he turned to leave.
Jennifer stared after him.
“That’s it? You’re not even going to explain yourself? Or did Felix stop pretending to be civilized the moment he returned to Eirden?”
What else could she call what had just happened?
It was the behavior of a thug.
The man glanced back at her.
He said nothing, immediately looked away, and strode out.
Jennifer was speechless.
What an asshole.
Once he was gone, she picked up her phone and nearly called Stella herself.
But the man had already tried several times without getting an answer.
Something must have happened.
And Stella had not contacted her once in the past two weeks.
Jennifer sent her a message instead.
'What’s going on over there? One of Felix’s men just barged into my house and used my phone to call you.'
'He didn’t even bother explaining. Absolutely no manners.'
His rude behavior only convinced Jennifer that Stella must be in serious trouble.
Otherwise, Felix would never have resorted to something like this.
In Sevi Valley, Stella read Jennifer’s messages and looked at Remi.
