Chapter 894
But the shameless man cafted again almost immediately.
He seemed to have endless patience for this sort of thing.
Block his number, and he would simply call from another one.
He would keep hounding her until she finally gave in.
Stella answered irritably.
“What do you want?”
“Felix said he’s taking you to the Black Sea. What do you think about that?”
Stella fell silent.
What was she supposed to think?
Everything these men did left her speechless.
“What exactly are you asking?”
“Are you going with him?”
Evan got straight to the point.
Her answer would tell him exactly how she felt about Felix now.
The truth was, Evan was still afraid
So much had happeried lately, and although Stella had been fighting with Felix, their fights did not seem nearly as vicious as the ones she had had with Evan in Harbor City.
Or perhaps returning to Eirden had left her so restricted that she could no longer fight as freely as she once had.
Whatever the reason, Evan was afraid she still had feelings for Felix.
It was almost laughable.
Stella was his wife, yet he was worried that her heart belonged to another man.
“You clearly have too much time on your hands,” Stella said.
She had no desire to answer such a pointless question.
“You’re not stupid,” Evan said. “Felix’s intentions toward you aren’t simple, and you know that.”
For once, Evan was willing to admit that Stella was perfectly capable of thinking for herself.
Whenever she could not see the full picture, she knew enough to protect herself and stay out of danger.
But this time, she might not be able to protect herself.
She was dealing with Felix and the Hogarth family.
Even though she was the Hogarth family’s little princess, Evan still could not stop worrying about her.
“Evan, you’re hardly one of the good ones yourself.”
“You…”
“Stop worrying about my business.”
Evan went silent.
“Take care of yourself.”
With that, Stella ended the call.
As far as she was concerned, Evan was no better than anyone else.
On the other end, Evan listened to the disconnected line.
Her complete refusal to listen made his head feel ready to explode.
“How stubborn…”
He took a hard drag from his cigarette.
“Ever since she returned to Eirden, she hasn’t been able to see anything clearly.”
In Evan’s eyes, Stella was trapped in a situation she could not understand.
And because she could not see the truth, she trusted no one.
