Chapter 874
Evan had already uncovered some information about Stella.
She truly was Aaron Hogarth’s Biological sister.
But what she was about to face would not be simple.
Precisely because she belonged to the Hogarth family, there were certain things she could never easily escape
Evan understood what she wanted.
She wanted to go to Ravaria, somewhere without Felix or the Hogarth family, and live a quiet, uncomplicated life.
But in Evan’s eyes, that was impossible.
Stella’s breathing tightened.
“What do you know?”
“Being the Hogarth family’s little princess isn’t as easy as it sounds,” Evan said gravely.
Stella fell silent.
It wasn’t easy?
Before returning to Eirden, she had never thought much about it.
But now, Evan’s words seemed to match reality.
Ever since she came back, everything had only grown more difficult/
“Come to Seaborne,” Evan said. “I’ll protect you.”
Stella almost laughed.
“You’ll protect me?”
“Listen to yourself. Don’t you hear how ridiculous that sounds?”
Felix and Aaron had disappointed her.
But the person she trusted least of all was Evan.
And now he was claiming he would protect her.
Protect her?
Back in Harbor City, he had never protected her wholeheartedly, not even from the Wright family.
How could she possibly believe him now?
When someone trusted you, you should treasure it.
That kind of faith was precious.
Once it was broken, it could never truly be recovered.
Just like now.
Evan had spoken with complete sincerity.
But to Stella, his promise of protection sounded like nothing more than a joke
“I’m not joking.
Stella had not been compliant.
That was why he had been so eager to end things.
In truth, Evan and Felix were no different.
Wasn’t Felix behaving the same way now?
He thought Stella was disobedient and difficult to control.
He could no longer even maintain the gentleness he had once shown her in Harbor City.
“Your situation is complicated,” Evan said. “I only want to help you get through it.”
As for what had happened between them, this was not the time to discuss it.
He also knew Stella would never forgive him.
And right now, he was not asking her to.
“I’ll send someone to get you,” Evan continued. “Don’t go to Ravaria.
Knowing those people had pushed her to the point of fleeing to Ravaria made his chest ache.
When she had been with him, he had not always treated her like something precious.
But seeing Felix drive her into this state still made him feel terrible.
And Aaron was her own brother.
“There’s no need.”
Evan’s tone was firm, but Stella’s refusal was colder.
