Chapter 865
She had already showered and changed back into the clothes she had worn the day she returned.
When she saw Aaron, Stella only gave him a brief glance.
Then she looked away, took hold of her suitcase, and headed for the door.
Aaron stepped forward and took the suitcase from her band.
“You really do have quite a temper.”
He had thought her talk of going to Ravaria was only an angry threat.
Apparently, she had meant it.
“Give it back.”
Her voice was cold.
“Summer was already dying,” Aaron said. “Was she really worth getting this upset over?”
Felix had explained everything to him.
Summer was unlikely to survive anyway.
In Aaron’s world, someone like that was not worth wasting time or energy on.
He had not expected Stella to become this angry.
She looked at him, her gaze turning even colder.
But she said nothing.
Was Summer worth getting this upset over?
He was actually reducing everything to Stella being petty.
Was this really only about Stella refusing to let something go?
She drew in a shaky breath.
“You already killed her,” Aaron said gently. “Is that still not enough to satisfy you?”
He softened his tone, trying to calm the little wildcat in front of him.
But the words only made the coldness in Stella’s eyes deepen.
“Stella.”
Aaron reached out to smooth a hand over her hair.
She turned her head and avoided him.
His hand froze in madair.
Meeting her icy gaze, Aaron asked, “Are you really this angry?”
Stella remained silent.
“If she was gone, it wouldn’t consume anything.”
So his solution was simply for Stella to let it go?
Did he truly not understand what Summer represented to her?
Or did he simply not care?
Stella stopped herself from following that thought any further.
Whatever complicated situation surrounded them, she no longer wanted any part of it.
“Fine,” Aaron said helplessly. “I was wrong, okay?”
His voice turned indulgent as he tried to coax her out of her anger.
He only wanted her temper to settle.
But it was already too late.
Stella had become far more sensitive after everything that happened in Harbor City.
And that morning, when Aaron sided with Felix over the phone, he had broken something in her.
She had already been thinking about retreating from the situation entirely.
His call had simply become the final spark that made everything inside her erupt.
