Chapter 847
That silence made Jennifer’s heart sink even low
What was there left for her and Leon to say?
“This is the second time,” Jennifer said, her voice fight
In less than three days, he had left twice because of Monique
Twice in such a short time.
And there was still such a long future ahead of them.
“I don’t want to become like Stella, constantly drained by the people and problems around you
Jennifer spoke calmly, every word clear
Whatever those people wanted, they could have it.
She just did not want any part of it.
“Her infection got worse. She was given the wrong medication, and it affected some of her…”
“Does the reason even matter?”
Jennifer cut him off.
It was Monique.
That was all that mattered.
Leon’s tone cooled.
“You were the one who hurt her.”
Jennifer laughed bitterly.
“Leon, you’re unbelievable.”
He was still bringing up the fact that she had hurt Monique.
At that point, Jennifer had nothing left to say to him.
Leon went quiet.
Before he could respond, Jennifer ended the call.
Standing in the hospital hallway, Leon looked as though he wanted to crush his phone in his hand.
Vivian stood beside him.
Seeing his expression, she could not resist adding fuel to the fire.
“See? That’s the woman you chose. Cold and selfish.”
“Monique is suffering because of her, and she has not apologized once. She even stopped you from coming to see Monique.”
“Can you stop talking for once?”
Leon was already overwhelmed.
“Stella, what happened between you and Evan is exactly what waits for Leon and me,” Jennifer said. Tim scared of that future.”
She had seen the warning signs clearly.
How could she hesitate now?
No matter what, she had to leave.
She could not have that kind of future with Leon.
It terrified her.
“Okay,” Stella said. “I understand. Wait there.”
“Okay.”
They ended the call.
Seeing how determined Jennifer was, especially after she had called Stella, Shane immediately called Leon.
Over at the hospital, Monique still had not come out of the treatment room.
When Leon answered Shane’s call, his head began to pound.
For the first time, he felt Jennifer was being completely unreasonable.
Did she really have to choose now to make things worse?
“Take her home,” Leon said.
