The moment Jennifer heard Ruby’s name, her expression darkened.

Stella’s tone was flat. “She came to Inkwood. Planned to trap me there and let me bleed out.”

Just thinking about Ruby’s arrogance inside the house made Stella’s jaw tighten.

Felix didn’t respond.

Dressed in a black shirt, his presence felt colder than the hospital corridor itself. His eyes were sharp,

unreadable.

Lucas studied him.

“How did you know Ruby went to Inkwood?”

It wasn’t just that Felix knew.

It was like he’d anticipated she would make a move against Stella.

When they couldn’t reach Evan, Felix had gone personally.

And had told Lucas to keep calling.

Neither of them expected Evan’s phone to be off.
