When Harold and Old Mrs. Wright heard the news report mentioning the Hogarth family, they turned toward the
television too.
The moment they saw Aaron pull Stella into his arms, their faces stiffened as well.
The room fell completely silent.
Fiona and Dora looked at each other.
“Mom… Mom… was that Stella? The woman Aaron pulled into his arms?”
They had only seen Stella from the side, so Fiona was not completely certain.
But her voice was trembling.
Aaron Hogarth…
The head of a family that controlled an enormous share of the global economy.
What could Stella possibly have to do with him?
In that moment, Fiona remembered Christian from Hogarth Group.
Stella had been close to him too.
No…
But Stella had never been that intimate with Christian in public.
And now, Aaron had personally gone to the airport to greet her.
He had even pulled her into his arms.
Dora’s breathing grew more and more uneven, her face draining of color.
Even after the broadcast moved on, she kept staring at the screen.
Something was beginning to take shape in her mind.
“It was her. It was definitely her.”
Dora’s lips trembled as she spoke.
She was certain the woman Aaron had embraced was Stella.
Dora hated Stella to the core.
Even if Stella had been reduced to ashes, Dora would still recognize her.
And Stella had worn that dress at the Wright estate before.
Fiona’s face lost all color.
“It really was her.”
She had not wanted to believe that the woman in Aaron’s arms was Stella.
But hearing Dora confirm it destroyed her last bit of doubt.

“How does she even have this kind of influence? What is her relationship with Aaron?”
Fiona’s lips trembled as she spoke.
Felix alone had already shocked them.
Then there was Christian.
And now Aaron.
The man who held absolute power in Eirden.
Stella had connections to someone like him too?
Dora said nothing.
What influence?
At Fiona’s words, Dora’s breathing grew faster.
In Dora’s eyes, Stella had never had any real abilities at all.
Yet this woman, whom she had always considered worthless, had gone to Eirden and been personally welcomed by the head of the Hogarth family.
“No wonder,” Dora said weakly. “No wonder the Wright family ended up like this…”
Until now, she had believed Felix was the reason the Wright family had been destroyed.
But now…
It was not as simple as Felix.
Who knew how many powerful people stood behind Stella?
How could the Wright family possibly survive against people like that?
Felix alone had been enough to crush them.
Then came Christian.
And now Aaron.
Any one of them could have ground the Wright family into the dirt.
“So what kind of person did we provoke?” Fiona asked Dora, her eyes filled with tears.
Dora said nothing.
What kind of person?
Seeing that scene was the most hopeless thing of all.
From the moment they saw Aaron hold Stella in his arms, they finally understood.
The Wright family would never recover.
Old Mrs. Wright and Harold came back to themselves and glared at Dora.
“You… You didn’t even know what kind of person your own daughter–in–law was?”
