Whether it was Vivian or Monique, Stella did not care.
But Leon was not going to push the blame onto someone who had nothing to do with the situation.
She had made that perfectly clear from the beginning.
“Leon’s sister took the blame,” Jennifer said.
“Is that so? And he still expects me to release Monique?”
Leon really was unbelievable.
Yes, he had sacrificed someone from the Redson family.
But his sister was still the least painful choice.
Compared with Vivian or Monique, sacrificing her had barely cost him anything.
“That’s just how he is,” Jennifer said quietly. “He always protects them.”
There was an ache in her voice that was difficult to describe.
Leon truly did protect Monique.
And Vivian too.
That was exactly why those women had felt free to hurt Jennifer again and again without restraint.
“Then stay out of this from now on,” Stella said.
“No. I’m going to make him choose between his mother and Monique.”
Was it cruel to put him in such an impossible position?
Leon had made Jennifer’s life unbearable.
It was only fair that she forced him into the same kind of choice.
Stella smiled.
“That’s more like it.”
She had genuinely worried that Jennifer might ask her to release Monique immediately.
But Leon had not yet given Jennifer the outcome she deserved.
So how could Stella possibly let Monique go?
He had sacrificed his own sister instead.
How convenient.
The thought reminded Stella of the way Aaron had treated her, and her disgust toward Leon deepened.
“What about the baby?” Stella asked.
Several days had already passed.
“I had the procedure.”
Jennifer’s answer was blunt and cold.
This time, she had not delayed.
Whatever excuses the hospital gave her, she had insisted on ending the pregnancy immediately.
