I Was His Wife, Then His Widow, Then No One's But My Own novel Chapter 432

Nora nodded, and Xander turned, heading downstairs toward the kitchen.

It all felt incredibly surreal. In all the time she had known Xander, she had seen the ruthless mogul commanding boardrooms, and she had certainly witnessed his complete loss of control last night. But she had never, ever pictured him wearing an apron. The contrast was absolutely mind-boggling.

After washing up and slipping into a comfortable set of loungewear, Nora crept quietly downstairs. She padded over to the kitchen doorway and leaned against the frame, peering inside.

Xander was standing at the stove with his back to her, expertly frying eggs. The adjacent pot was already steaming, and the mouth-watering aroma of breakfast filled the air.

Nora watched him in silent awe for a few moments before finally speaking up. "I never pegged you as the domestic type."

Xander turned around, a warm, affectionately teasing light dancing in his eyes.

"My mom always said that upholding The Harrison Family Tradition is mandatory—the men of this family must know how to cook."

Xander finished his culinary task, effortlessly sliding the fried eggs onto the plates with a practiced ease that sharply contrasted with his usual commanding boardroom presence.

He turned off the stove and arranged the plates smoothly. "From now on, I'm handling all the cooking. You won't ever need to step foot in the kitchen."

Nora blinked in surprise. "Why not?"

After setting the table, Xander walked over, gently took her hand, and guided her to a chair. He looked at her with a profound, unwavering sincerity.
